Default W/S setting for RPM

Well I am going to start spraying at 3500 RPMs. Right now I shift at 6500-6700 RPMs N/A. What RPM should I set the window switch to turn the nitrous off. I was thinking 6200 but is that good or should i stop it at 6k?

Thanks,
Ben

6200 should be fine. I'm shifting same place you are, and I was going to set the cut off around 6200-6300 as well.

That's about what I plan to do. Spray @ 3200 and set the off window to 6200 because my shift point (A4) is at 6500 ... some folks say it's overkill to use a windows switch, but, I'm using all the safe-guards I can. I may just decide to spray thorugh the gears since I'm an auto ... good luck.

Being that I have a 6 speed and that my w/s also is my WOT switch so I just want to lower the chances of a backfire.

Yeah, I'm doing a timing tuner and a WOT switch as well. The timing tuner is nearly $300.00, but, a nitorus fire can cost you your car, so, I'm being as safe as I possibly can. Most folks who have had a nitrous backfire (at least from what I am reading on the forum here), could have been prevented with the most safety features possible.

As with anything else, a noid can fail or nitrous can puddle for various reasons. I don't think you can ever be 100% safe. The veteran nitrous folks I've been reading posts from say it's a just the risk you take when you spray. Plus, when you spray and raise cylinder pressures, you'll eventually breaking something internally or externally, whether it be a rearend, a driveshaft, head gasket, intake, or whatever ... etc.

My motor is forged with 15,000 miles on the build and the ringlands were set up for a 150-200 shot, so, I'm not too worried about the stress ont he motor. My 12-bolt is my main concern, I guess.

I shifted at 6800 and sprayed all the way up to 6800. Just make sure the rev limit is higher then your window switch setting.

its not the high rpms that are hard on a motor on the bottle, its the lower rpms. the low setting is much more important then the high setting, id start around 3500 like youre thinking, then set the max rpms to about 200 rpms lower then youre rev limit
