Default Direct port of MAF...

mods in sig, but i have a stock intake, not the FAST like i want yet. but would it be worth the extra money to put a direct port on there? would i still see better gains over a MAF style kit? or should i even go to a fogger? also, are my 4.10's gonna hurt me if i run nitrous? thanks

What size shot do you want to run? You could do the MAF for now and use it as a second stage later. I think the best overall way to go would be to save up for the intake you want, then make your decision. I bet a 90MM plate from Dave's would be a good choice if you want to stay at/below a 200 shot.

You don't really need a direct port unless you are to run over a 250 shot. Also, I'm assuming you are still running the stock bottom end so I wouldn't advise a 250 hit on the stock pistons. The MAF kit will be cheaper and get the job done. It's not really worth the $1000-$2000 for a proper DP setup on an LS1 intake and stock bottom end only to run a 100-150 shot.

Stick with the MAF kit or get a plate kit. Save the rest of your money for accessories to make the kit safe and reliable.

That's my $0.02. Hope it helps.

I think you are a perfect candidate for a plate kit instead of the MAF kit because of the superior distribution and it really sets the bar for a clean looking install when you hardline the nitrous and fuel supply lines. Nitro Dave has the option of a dual stage plate as well as his trick window switch with dual stage window switch capabilities, TPS, any gear lock out and all that fun stuff if you choose to run a dual stage but I really don't see then sense in it...BUT, if you feel the need, you can run a dual stage plate, lock out any gear you want with the trick window switch and not have to worry about the pulsing of the noids with a progressive (some progressives may still pulse and some may not...not really up on them). That way, you can hit it with whatever you want off the line and then another hit when you get moving or however you choose for the best times. Like I said, personal opinion...a dual stage setup isn't really necessary unless you simply want it for ***** and giggles. All you will need is more tire...and that's always a good thing.

I just got my plate kit in for my 408 and I've got the 100hp jets in just to start off the tuning with and to get used to. After I get the feel for the spray again and get all the suspension dialed in to hook it, I'll step it up to 150hp jets...then 200hp jets. That'll probably happen in the same week.

Cliff notes: Go with a single stage plate kit and call it a day. Believe me, when you open the box and see the quality of the plate, you'll fall in love with it. I've seen a million pictures but until you put your hands on one, you have no clue.

**Note** If you recieve your plate kit and experience an erection lasting longer than 4 hours, please seek immediate medical attention to avoid a potentially serious risk.
