Default is taking fuel from the rail a good idea??

I have the nos plate kit and i have never had a problem, but i just read a post of a guy that had a 402, was taking fuel off the rail and leaned a cyl, hurt piston. I am building a 402 and dont really want to pull it back out on a regular basis. I have a racetronix 255l intank with the hotwire kit. would it be better, (obviously) to have a stand alone fuel system for the wet kit?? Are there other people that have had issues with this?? I will be getting a plate from niro daves for my fast 90/90. If i ever finish the build.

I needed a stand alone at about 635 rwhp with a TH400 and a 450 rwhp NA motor using a Racetronix high current wiring.

How big of a shot are you going to run?

i will probably just run a 150 shot like i am doing now, i think that should put me into some low 10's Ya never know i might just get greedy someday and put a 250 hit on it to get into the 9's.

I have the nos 90mm plate kit on a 408 with a walbro intake pump pulling fuel from the rail without trouble. I'm at 632 rwhp with a 150 shot through an auto my afr was at 11.6 to 1. I would say that my fuel system is about maxed so a dedicated setup would be a good idea if you plan on going with a bigger shot in the future. I know I was ready to go with a bigger shot after only a few passes at 150, but I'm fighting off the temptation...lol

We have typically seen the racetronix systems start to have trouble at around the 650rwhp mark. If you plan on making more power than that then I would definately suggest you going to a dedicated that away you know you are 100% covered for the fueling for the nitrous. The other option would be to go wiht a new pump ( ex. Aeromotive A 1000 ), lines, and some high flow rails.

I couldn't see a problem with it....especially if you upgrade your pump....
