Overfill. Heard of this before. Blew out the burst disc, or whatever the safety is on the bottle. Cheap to fix. Call NOS, for a new one.

That's dangerous. The burst disk goes around 3000 psi I believe. You have to monitor the pressure and weight while filling. In the summer starting with a hot bottle I've seen 2100 psi before the filler was able to get 10#s in the bottle. Chill the bottle before taking it to the fill station and MAKE SURE they weight the bottle and monitor pressure while filling!!!

WOW, I have filled tons of bottles for me and my buddies at my friends shop. I have never seen one do this, however I fill bottles like descrivbed in the post above. I put them in the freezer with the valve open for about an hour or two and I can completely put in 10 pounds of nitrous without the pump. These bottles hit real nice at the track

ya it was the safety burst disk that went on that bottle. whoever was filling the bottle didnt know what he was doin, b/c it shouldnt happen if it was filled properly. but the burst disks are like $5 if i remember corectly from work, just take it to a qualified station and have it repaired.

if it was a brand new kit, it could've easily been a defective part as well. Wouldn't have been the first time.
