Default How much and who can repair a progressive controller?

Mine stuck the selenoids open on me.... it got really hot. Yes... it was wired up correct..... we swapped it for another and the new one worked fine.

It is one like this: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...roduct_id=1058

Why wouldn't you ask the vendor directly? I guess it's nice to see who may repair electronics...but logic seems to suggest contacting Nitrous Outlet. My experience is that they are very helpful. BTW - links still fail to work.

one like: NOS-15835BNOS: Time Based Progressive Nitrous Control System

I picked it up from a fella that worked at the shop, he bought it and a plate kit from you...... IIRC. It is a Gemini Plate. We threw another progressive on and it worked fine! It is a loaner until I can get mine fixed. Do you know who can tear into one and see why it is getting hot and why it locked the selenoids open when we were testing for leaks and such thru the motor?

Thanks to all that can help! It is the old style. Buying a new one is not an option...... I would rather go dual stage and pick up a couple more selenoids.

Mike,
Depending on what solenoids you were using there is a chance that progressive would not support the amp draw the solenoids require.

That progressive can support up to a total of 25 amps. The NX solenoids are going to pull more than that.

I called Kyle at NOS for you to ask him what he thought. He said Normaly if it is a amperage problem the solenoids will just not open. It sounds like maybe the controll got a internal short. This could have been caused from the amperage issue.

They do not offer a rebuild service so if it will not work with lower amp solenoids and is shorted you are out of luck.

Ok fellas... how do I build a 2 stage out of a single Gemini Plate kit? w/o having to get a fogger nozzle...... or spray bar in the intake? Can I make both lines flow to a y-block? what will keep the nitrous from going the other direction? does this make sense? what about a setup that is like an "x"?

as you can see... the plate will not flow evenly without having the hardlines hit both sides... it has 4 places for the hardlines.... 2 for nitrous and 2 for fuel. The shop removed the lines that come with the kit, and made 2 from the selenoid with a "y" block for even distribution.
