yes...it would be a very wise thing to do. you'll want to make sure the plunger hasnt swelled up. ask me how i know...

So are you saying that when the car gets put away for winter storage (for those of us that do), you will need to pull things apart in the spring?

Later,
Brad

nitrous systems have to be maintained just like anything else on a car. you should check your solenoids on a reguler basis to ensure proper operation. check your lines, jets etc. to make sure theres nothing there that can potentially clog a knozzle or jet. theres a plunger inside the solenoids that tend to swell from the fuel thats used in some parts of the country...if the plunger swells, the solenoid wont open therefore wont spray fuel. we all know that all nitrous and no fuel on a wet system isnt a good thing.

i went out one feb night couple years back after having the car stored all winter and i didnt bother to check my noids. raced a supra...fuel noid stuck...burnt 2 valves and melts 3 plugs.

hope this helps some of you guys....goodluck

Those of us running dry systems should we worry about it as much? Tearing apart my noids isn't something I'm familiar with at all but we won't have to worry about as much about spraying fuel and no nitrous. However if a dry nitrous noid does get stuck open a Fuel pressure safety switch should disable the noid or just get off the pedal right?

FPSS monitors the pressure at the fuel rail...basically so if fuel pressure drops in the lines/rails (fuel pump failure..slowing down etc.) than it will shut the system down...and they dont even work right 100% of the time.
if your running a dry system you should still check the system from time to time to make sure theres nothing in the lines that can clog or potentially damage noids and such... however, you guys probably wont see the carnage that wet guys will see if something fails.
im sure the nitrous Experts will chime in eventually and give more technical advise on what you should check/clean etc. than i can provide.

Alright i never thought about cleaning them out or anything.. Hmm, well mine has been sitting under my bed for awhile. Actually for about a year now it hasn't been used.

What kind of cleaner should we use?? Like brake cleaner so it will evaporate or what??
