Debating over iron vs aluminum. Any opinions? 250 shot possible with a resleeved LS6 block?

If you get the right bottom end stuff a resleeved ls6 block should handle 250 just fine, BTW I think I found the nitrous kit I want.

250 is what i need. Any other opinions on a sleeved block and a 250 shot?

Great thread would love to see what people have to see on this subject. Allan at FMS has assured me that his resleeved blocks can take the 200-250 shots. for 300+ shots they can do a ceramic piston coating for not too much extra.

I'm pretty sure also about Allans motors shooting up to a 250. I'll ask him next time I talk to him. I would imagine a single 300 all at once would be the max. Just to clarify, I am talking single stage for the original question.

I know if I was spraying that much, it would be direct port and progressively controlled. do you plan on doing a standard wet kit for that high of a shot???

Mti told me that I can safely spray a 200 shot on my 422 (aluminum block) with adequate fuel of course

Terry, so do you think a 250 is on the edge?
Alex, this is for a direct port setup in the future.

yes, I think 250 is pushing it, I am thinking hard about doing a 200 shot, but am leaning toward the 150.

I believe the ARE car is a resleeved aluminum block. They have to be spraying 400-500hp

That was my thinking also, but wasn't sure whether they were using iron or aluminum.

ARE calculated their rwhp to be around 1100 with their 162 mph trap speeds and their 3200# raceweight. So even if that motor was putting down an unreal 600 rwhp they are still hitting it with a 500 shot. And isn't their setup single stage due to class rules? With a good tune, I would worry more about holding the heads to the block then the limitations of the sleeves.

My ARE 382 SR is a resleeved aluminum with Ross Racing pistons. I'm going to spray 300 on it regularly and up the dosage when I'm ready to break stuff.
