Default E85 and nitrous?

Has anyone do it yet or can it be done? What do you have to do to do it?

I just switched my car over to E85. Spraying a "normal" amount on it as well. All I had to do was get bigger injectors and have my tuner put a custom operating system in the car. I haven't sprayed the car with the E85 but I'll be fine.

You would need to compensate 25% - 40% more fuel. The other issue is cylinder temps while spraying. I'd have to talk to a chemical engineer on that one though.

I have a 408 that I will spraying. I believe when the tune was done it took 23% more fuel to compensate for the lack of thermal energy in e85 compared to gasoline. I have 60lb injectors to keep up with the increased fuel demand. I also have a stand alone fuel system. In the stand alone I will run 116 octane race gas. I could run e85 which is 110 octane, but for max power I'll run 116 octane. The e85 has a slower burn to help with detonation and also because of the alcohol the motor runs cooler. My motor is 13.5 compression with no knock no matter how much timing I run. I've had 35 degree's of timing no problem.

.

We called a N2O guy for info. As the guys said, you have to rejet for the fuel side. All you need is the new chart & jet per the shot size. He did recommend alcohol jets.

you need to dyno tune it with a good wide band. you need a **** ton more fuel. at this point it will be a more individual based thing then a simple wet jet chart. e85 is a good fuel, you just a bunch more of it. so either dry it wet, there will be considerable dyno tuning involved. but im sure the big midwest nitrous companies are working on it...

I am doing it. 402 11.7:1 60# 150 dry shot. EGT is at 1100 while spraying. Injector duty cycle is at 81% timing at 23 with tr6. Works great. Also have wide band but it has to read lambda because AF is around 7.7 on spray and 9.8 at idle and cruise.

This is the problem....you can't see Lambda. If you have a wideband you can get a special senser to read that low.....It is a methenol wideband
