Default Best pistons for 250 shot?

Exactly what it says...I am building a 347 and I want to hit it with a 225-300 shot of spray and I want to know what are the best pistons for nitrous?

The product info on all pistons say that they are suited for nitrous but the mahle's and Diamond's say small nitrous applications. The Wiseco's and the JE's just ay suited for nitrous. But no one has a designated nitrous piston below 13:1 compression, And Im trying to stay in the high 11.5:1-to low 12:1 compression area. Which the 4 above all are.

Over 260 nitrous passes on my Wiseco's... all with pump gas and a 200 to 250 shot... still runs good

If you want to keep the compression as low as you are talking I would suggest calling Diamond and having a set made for what you want to do. An off the shelf piston may not suit what you are looking to do.

I choose Wiseco 8cc rev dome, and run a 11.25;1 compression. It's good to 1000rwhp.

So I'm sure the poster would like to know the rough cost of said pistons, right? I know I would.

I am running custom Ross pistons..16-18cc dish, (can't remember exact) 12.2:1 static CR

They were around $6-700 and were spec'd for a <300> shot

I believe with a 59-62cc combustion chamber and the flat top pistons I could achieve 11.5-12.0:1 compression. I have used a few calculators as well as spoke to people with the pistons. Ive done my research on the pistons I just need to know which ones are better in the publics opinion. I am dead serious about not blowing this motor up and I want everything to be right.

Understand that you'll only be able to spray so much before lifting the heads will be a concern, etc.etc. That being said, you also need to work your way up to it, not just put a 300 to it and see what happens.

Personally I would put a set of coated gas ported diamond pistons in it with a recessed top ring land.

I was spraying a 150 shot on my old motor... So, 75 horsepower more with head studs and a Forged motor...I think it'll be fine.

I voted for what I have. Mahle -4's. I'm happy, but I'll have to wait on the 300 shot results for next year.

i called texas-speed about a set of diamonds, with -2cc valve reliefs but would keep the compression around stock, and they wanted something like 510... so maybe you could just call someone up...

If going 300 or behond you can minimize the lifting of heads issue. How? Run the ARP L19 head studs; they have 40% more clamping force over standard ARP head studs. Expensive, but well worth it imo. Some guys live a nice long life at 300 without lifting of heads. Myself, I haven't got a truck load of 300hp runs, but so far with the L19s and good tune, no problems.

I fugured that... I just didn't want anyone to get confused on here.

Personally I had L19 main studs, head studs and rod bolts used in my motor
