Default To stand alone, or to not stand alone...

That is the question.

I priced one out doing it myself, and it was just slightly under what I could buy one for with the walbro pump in the tank. Much cleaner buying one from one of the sponsors. I'm not telling who! I will either be doing a stand alone, and buying the single racetronix kit for the car, or I'll be buying the double pumper unit, and doing a complete fuel system for the car and pull off of that for the nitrous. It is very similar in price, so that wont be a deciding factor.

I'll be spraying (depending on ring gap recomendations) a 200 at most. Maybe 250 or 300 but rarely. It all depends on the ring gaps. This is primarily a street toy, but will go to the track several times a year I'm sure. At what shot is it really advised to run a race gas over pump gas? If thats really on the 250-300, I could just drain the big tank, and fill it with some good fuel. Then I'd always have a healthy fuel system for the future which is never a bad thing!

What do you guys think?

I run C-16 in all the dedicateds I install. You do not have to worry about getting poorly cut gas that contains methonal and you end up with a higher over all octain rating.

With the dedicated you will also not have to worry about the intank pump being able to support both the motor and nitrous.

Personally i'd go stand alone. I think its much safer to get fuel for the nitrous somewhere other than the motors source. Plus you can run different octanes of fuel to help with detination. jmo

No problem with the racetronix double pump unit and a -8 feed supporting both the motor and nitrous.

There was a mustang guy on the corral that was spraying a big shot and kept hurting pistons, heads, etc. They figured out that the pump gas was burning before the racegas would and that was supposedly the issue. Once he started running race gas in the motor too, there was no issue? Anybody else have a issue with this?

hmmm. Never heard of that being an issue. Maybe he just really needed a higher octain fuel period?

Its much easier to get lost in a crowd....

That corny line out of the way

I prefer the stand alone, it take the strain off your stock system, as well as keeps you from chancing at running the rails dry. And the ability to run some special octane ONLY when spraying, instead of driving around of $10.00 gas, is a nice feature as well
