I have recently purchased a 98 t/a with a stock bottom end,an f10 cam,full bolt on with a yank 4000 stall, 3.73 gears,12 bolt, that has ran a 12.08 with a 11.9 or so in it with a good cool day. without dropping a good amount of cash for some better heads which i would probly have to get another cam i am looking into nitrous as an option. the concern i have is that with the big stall the rpms never drop below 5000 WOT with a shift point of 6600. is that enough of a rpm range for nitrous to really help me out, also with 390-400 rwhp how much of a shot is safe to run. From what i have read up on i think the dry kit sounds best for my situation but would like some more educated opinions. Thanks for any sugestions you may have but with the current power and weight of the car there is not that much better of a time i can get out of it without dropping some serious cash.Also the car is an a4 wit 114000 miles on stock 4l60 with a cooler but has been very well maintained.

What Yank stall is it? Nitrous is the best bang for buck, wet or dry it's not as big a decision as most people make it out to be, but your tranny might not like either...

it is a ss4000e. i have concerns about the transmission and was thinking of a window switch since a friend of mine has one that has his stock tranny still rolling but setting the switch from 4500 to 6500 would not give me much time on the juice would it? i am shooting for an 11.5 or so.

That would be fine with that converter because your rpms are still going to hang in that range for a while on the juice. 11.50s is very possible and your 3rd gear is going to pull hard enough to make up for a smaller window. What kind of rubber in the back? Short times?

Nice ride man, love the HID's and the system. I bet the tranny would be fine for a some 100 shot passes just lower your shift point a little bit and no hotlapping.

Thanks for the compliment, the friend of mine i bought the car from has spent a lot of time and money in this car, the only reason he sold it to me is his new corvette was finished being built today and he is flying to Kentucky in 2 weeks for delivery.I still think i will smoke his *** in his old car...

True that, but it's hard to beat that new vette smell. Good looking TA man and a great starting point. Check out nitro daves outlet for everything nitrous. Keep us posted.

i had a 95Z before this car and the difference is night and day. ls1 all the way , that car was a true pain in the *** to work on and seemed fast but times don't lie....

According to Yanks website the ss4000e is rated for a bolt on nitrous car.

it may end up being to loose with the cam and nitrous....I would suggest calling Yank and talk with them about it. It may be a simple as sending it back in and have them tighten it up for nitrous use.
