Default 300 through a fogger.. keeping the heads down?

This is my first nitrous ls1 build. The motor will be .050" over aluminum block. I have heard horror stories around 250 lifting the heads on these motors. What are you guys doing to keep the gaskets together with a 300 shot and keeping away from o-ring setups? The motor will be ~13.5:1 as well. Is there any chance of an mls gasket and arp studs keeping this together?

A really good tune, 1/2 inch studs, after market heads such as ET's with the thicker decks and lower the compression into the 12 range and you have a good chance of keeping your heads down.

How do you plan on going .05 over on an aluminum block? Do you plan on resleeving it? You won't lift the heads if you don't detonate (common sense extent).

I was wondering how you plan on going .050 on an aluminum as well...

I know GM gaskets, ARP studs, and thick deck heads have done the job before....

I am using 500 pills right now and I havn't lifted the heads. Mainly it is in the tune. After that you want to look at your actual setup. Don't use shitty parts.

I used Dart heads with cometics and 1/2 head studs in an iron block. Diamond nitrous pistons, hellfire rings, with billet rods and Lunati crank. Over 1Krwhp with no lifting of the heads. Pull alot of timing......and that is the best advise I can give you.

Yes, thank you. I meant to put .005". What are machine shops usually hitting for the 1/2" stud conversion?

take a lot of spark advance out around the torque peak of the engine, and be sure to keep a cold sparkplug in there like an autolite AR472.
