Default Donate Used Spark Plugs- For Good Cause.

Hey guys I need your help!

I am looking to write a tech article for reading spark plugs. With all the new tuning software out these days the amount of people that know how to read plugs are becoming less and less. This creates an issue for racers that have proceeded to the point where reading plugs are recommended. Since there are less people out there that know how to read plugs new comers have no one to turn to for learning. There are right ups on the internet but I think I can do a tech article that will be easier to follow and less confusing to the people learning how.

Please donate your used plugs…

I need plugs that have been freshly pulled. I am looking for plugs that show the following.

Lean conditions,
Detonation
Timing
Rich
Etc…

It is important that the plugs make it here in good condition and not wiped clean.. Please protect the end of the plug by taking the cardboard protector off your new plug and taping it over the end of the old plug. The plugs need to be in the condition they were pulled from the motor….

You can mail the plugs to.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks guys. Any type of plug will do. I am looking to be able to take really detailed pictures that show the condition of the plugs.

I am wanting to teach how to watch for,
Timming and heat range on the strap.- Need a plug that is burning properly and showing the color change clearly on the strap.

Detonation- Looking for a plug showing signs of alluminum deposits on the porcelyn.

Airfuel- Looking for a plug that shows a build up of black on the smooth top surface of the threads. Looking for a plug that shows one full color change on the surface.(Charcoal) And Looking for a plug that shows a hint of metal or light gray.

Strap missing.- Looking for a plug where the strap has been burned off.

Thanks
Dave

I had saved a bunch of plugs for this article and I ended up throwing them away by mistake.

I've taken off a bunch of plugs... I haven't wiped them clean or anything but they've been sitting in my tool box for a while. No covers or anything.

And I don't know any of the conditions they'd be in (Rich, lean etc) as I'm no pro

I have a whole **** load of em. Been working on my site's write up for some time. If ya end up missing any that you want let me know as I have a pretty good selection. This has been needed for some time, but i only have so much time, as I am sure you know what I mean, lol.
Here's some perfectly running plugs that just need a little cleaning up and good to go.

I have 8 out of a N/A car with a spot on tune. They look almost perfect, slight tan color. Let me know if you want them and/or pics.

Doug, Yes I could use some perfect ran plugs as well.

Robert. I guess you have been learning how to read plugs since your last mishap. Good for you...

I could use a few hurt plugs as well if you have extras.
Thanks

Let me see if I still have the old bosch plugs from my Z. They were removed in October, but they still may be of some use.

Yes, more like relearning, as the days when I started tuning there wasn't really anything else to really tell the whole story. Though, since the computers became prevalent i had got away from doing much tuning by plug. I do realize how important it is to us spray guys, so must relearn good reading tricks. I have a really good plug reading magnifier and light, so hopefully we'll get right back on the pony. Hope you can get it together soon, as mine is on the back burner-no time. Maybe you would let me add your write up to my tune section in my web? I would be happy to share any photos I have. Watch for a pm on another subject.
