lsx or ltx to build for nitrous.... I was a die hard turbo only guy, now all of the sudden I have this nitrous itch.. and am wanting to build a motor to take a prettly large shot... Right now I have an Lt1 but dont have a problem upgrading to an ls..... what do you guys this can take the bigger shot.... I am wanting to keep stock blocks on each and just to rod/pistons upgrade
If you've got a choice why not go with the LSx series. You can pick them up and build them pretty cheap. I've seen some people on here stating that stock LS cranks are good to 1000hp (not sure how true). Another big plus is an Aluminum block!
All depends on how much you wanna spray and how much power you want to make. The LSx is a better engine, but an LTx can be built to make loads of power. If you plan on spraying a big shot, and really want to haul *****, you're gonna have $500+ in a distributor alone 
...But a mild H/C/I LTx with a healthy shortblock (I'd advise a 383) can hold a 250, and run single digits in street trim.
