Default Timing Tuner installation

I'm trying to install my timing turner. I must be blind, I can't find the Crankshaft position sensor! Can anyone at least tell me where to look?

My car's a C5, but they're proably in the same place. I's between the exhaust and block and the connector is right about where the starter is. In fact, I had to pull my starter to find mine.
It is definitly a PITA to get to.

Pull the starter it's right behind it. You can't miss it with the starter out. Just make sure that you tie the wiring harness out of the way of the exhaust.

Ya, found it last night.. What a bitch of a place to get to. To make matters worse, my car is up on jack stands now and I threw out my back yesterday. I tried to work on it this morning, but it's not going to happen. Hell, I almost couldn't get up once I was on the ground.

I'm considering not trying to get to the factory plug behind the starter. What do you think about tracing the wires back until they are in a more reachable place and just splicing the wires from there? I figure it should work just as well.

One more thing. I'm using a MXII to control my solenoids so I don't need the TT for that. The installation instructions want me to use the nitrous relay as part of the wiring. Can't I just use a 12v source and ground it via the MXII switch?

It will be a much more "dependable" set up if you can use the plug in provided instead of splicing the wires. They proably won't be easy to get to either. See if you can get one of your buddies to drop the starter and plug it in.
I wired my TT to work off of the 12v source, and it worked great (once you decifer the instrctions.) I have since run a lean cut off switch and have yet to spray, but the solenoids are locking in fine.

Ya, I took one of my wife's left over pain pills and crawled back under the car late this afternoon. I found the bundle as it comes back up to the PCM, but I agree that installing the unit as designed is best. Maybe in a day or two I'll be feel better and I'll drop the starter.

What kind of lean cut off did you use? I put in an FJO and monitor it via the MXII.

I would reccomend using the Timing tuner to control the Nos so that you can use the Delay and the window switch as they work very good.

I am using the Dynotune LCO switch. I havn't tested it with the spray yet, but have tested the solenoid activation to make sure everything is hooked up correctly.
I use my tuner to pull timing, as well as limit min and max spray rpms. The unit has seemed to work very well so far.

The MXII has both delay and window and also works very well. But thanks for the recommendation.

I might start installing my TT tomorrow... Alls I need it for is to adjust timing between NA and the juice as I have a WS doing all other duties.

Any tips would you learn would be helpful.. Wait, your high on pain pills... LOL

LOL, not any more.... I'm all out but the back pain is gone.

I pulled the starter yesterday and jacked the cable in. I found that I did not have to disconnect the starter cables. I just pulled the starter and let it rest on my chest as I plugged the cable in. Then I put the starter back. HAVE EYE PROTECTION when you do it. Lots of dust falls out when you pull the starter.

I don't plan to put the TT in the engine bay. I'm going to run the cable back to my stickshift boot. It's easy to push the cable (after extending it) threw the boot and then use the center console to conceal the cable as you run it under the dash just behind the A/C controls. I'll leave just enough slack so I can drop it out on the passenger side to make adjustments.

This is the same way I installed all my electronics for the NXL/MXII kits. It leaves everything hidden and clean. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Mine is not a DD and I never used the AC so I yanked that ****. And who needs ABS, not me. I need to get a different battery, that yellow one looks like ****.

You should do the wire mod, its pretty easy and cleans up the passenger side alot.

Whos direct port is that?? Looks pretty damn nice.

LOL NO A/C! well, your in MN. Can't get away with yanking the A/C in north TX. I'd roast like a basted turkey during the summer. That's the NXL kit from NX. I had the braided hose made custom by Nitrous Outlet to replace the cheap nylon hose they send with the kit. Check out my tank. budy of mine painted it for a case of beer.

My bottle is all scratched to hell... Its going to look really good though when I attach the NANO up to it! just need to find time to mount it up.

FYI, I live in San Antonio / South Texas for 29 years. I had my Trans Am there for ~2 years (only been in Minnesota for ~4 years) and I never had the AC belt hooked up.

The car is not a DD so I guess thats why, I can remember though sweating my *** of in the seats driving it home from work a few times back when I was in Texas.

Up here, we only get above 90* a few times a year. The lakes are still all forzen and can still be driven on. But, I would not suggest it though.

Well howdy fellow Texan! I'm just outside of Dallas. You may be in Minnisota now, but you'll always have Texas blood.

Ya, a couple of cars back I didn't have AC. I will never do that again. I had a 20 min drive home from work in the afternoon and always looked like I just got out of the shower by the time I got there. And yes I agree, there's no need to leave your car at the bottom of a lake!

What's a NANO?

Yea, I miss Texas but honestly, its pretty bad *** up here and during the summer. I do miss the beach and going deep sea fishing though.

The NANO,, Its realatively new. Do a search here and see what comes up. Its pretty much a 4500 PSI bottle that attaches to the N20 bottle to get a consistent bottle pressure. I have mine sitting on the floor. Just no time to add that bad boy on.

I did a quick search on google. Looks very interesting. Maybe I waisted my money on the bottle warmer. I definitely do research on this new twist.

Ill post up some results to compare later in May...

Car is still the same as last year but prolly a little more heavier due to the cage that will be installed (got kicked off the track permanently till I got a cage). But, I do have all for Bogarts RT's now so that might make up some weight difference.

The goal is a 9.99 on a 200 shot straight out of the hole. I am wanting to do it in May cause its still nice and cold air in the mornings.
