Default How much N2O?????

I want to know what is a safe shot for this motor. Mahle 3.905 forged pistons, Scat H-Beams forged rods, stock crank, all ARP, and balanced. The shop said these are not nitrous pistons or rings but I keep getting different opinions. The shop that built it said no more than a 150 but others say 250 is fine.

What are your opinions???

I'm pretty sure I have the same pistons. Are they -4cc's? I've sprayed a 200 through my car with plans to run a dual stage 300 this year if that helps any.

That is what I was thinking but the shop that built the motor told me that it didn't have nitrous rings on them and that they weren't nitrous pistons. Have you heard such a thing?

There are such things as nitrous pistons.

Do you know if the Mahle -4cc pistons are a nitrous safe (big shot) piston (200+ shot)?

I wouldn't sweat it. I'll let you know in a month and 10 days how they handle a big shot.

Honestly a 200 is probably all i will need. That with a MS3. The highest is going to be 250. As long as it is a badass nitrous tune. You think it would be wise to run a 1 gallon cell with race gas for that.

I like 150 off the rail, but I am going to a cell for the bigger shot this year.

200 is about where race gas comes into play correct. I was also told to go LS6 intake rather than FAST. I was also contemplating the BBK. Any thoughts?

I run the LS6 because I'm cheap. I would jump on a ported FAST in a minute if I didn't have a million things going on.

I was told that due to the FAST being a three piece intake that in the event of a nitrous backfire it would blow the intake apart. Aside from that would a LS6 get the job done on a 200 for now?

A blowout will destroy any plastic manifold. It just hurts a little more when that intake costs a grand.

The FAST will let you run higher RPM before it runs out of breath.

Towards the end of last year I felt like the LS6 was turning into a bottleneck for the 200 shot. I am keeping my LS6 just out of need though.

I have seen a friend of mine safely run a fat 125 through it but I would say 150 with some octane booster should be fine.

Start low and work your way up. You need to pay attention to your plugs as you work your way up though.

What's wrong with the octane booster. I ran race gas every once in a while but the VP booster or the NOS booster seemed to do the trick.

No, don't use that stuff. Torco works really well if you don't want to mess with race gas

Will Torco be good for the 200-250 range of should I go ahead and use race gas?
