Default Spraying through shifts?

Whats the opinion on spraying a 150 shot through WOT shifts on a TH400?

Is it better to do a window switch to spray so the nitrous is off at your shift point or do you go ***** out and spray the whole run?

***** out on a stock 4L60E. Not recommended by some, but works for now, and has worked for over 400 runs in less than one year. Do a search, theres only been like 4 of these threads. But most all are for 4L60E. I would think the 400 is way stronger, but then you may not want to find out its weakness.

Good-luck.

what if you have your shiftpoints and firmness raised? I was told not to do it, since I got the tuning done. I was spraying through the shifts, on my stock 4l60e, before the tuning, can I still spray through after the tuning?

I have been spraying thru on mine, I am by no means saying if yo udo it will be peaches and cream. But on mine it is safe so far...hell for all I konw the damn thing could go out tomorrow. I do have my rev limiter raised and shift firmness. On the bottle thing shifts smoother than before tuning (with Predator!). I would not do it if you using the HPP3, my friends trans started leaking, another bent a valve, and heard rumors that the way HPP3 adjusts shifts is not the right way. I however do not know, but after my friends getting jacked and the fact both used HPP3, then I just wouldnt do it.

my buddy sprays 350 from the time he leaves the line on his car with 11.5 slicks. he has a '72 RS Z28 with a 434 stoker small block and a TH400, makin 6.50 runs in the 1/8 mile, which is about 9.xx in 1/4.

Yeah but that is with a TH400 not a 4L60E. I know the original question was about a TH400. Just curious about my application too (Not trying to sound like an *** or hi-jack a post with that first sentence). So, how many people are doing it on a stock 4l60e? I just don't want to blow the thing up. TIA

snake-eater--a search is in order for you. we debated this topic a while back for the 4L60E, and it comes down to this, although not recommended you can do it. Depending on all those little things like maintenance interval etc...

I'm considering spray right now and talked to a reputible nitrous salesperson who said its much easier on the engine to load it one time than to turn the spray off and on serveral times in a run. Just food for thought. Frank95z
