Default Debating a new setup....

Alright guys, lemme see what you think. Im trying to build a good mid to high 6 sec 1/8 mile car. I have a 99 SS with the NX dual fogger kit with a 150 shot, 6 speed. I want to swap to an auto, get a forged 346, patriot ls6 headsa 238/244 cam, the victor jr intake, a 9 inch and roll the fenders with some 335's. My questions are do yall think it will be worth it to swap to a direct port with the FAST XFI computer or just stay with the direct port and EFI live? trying to get some feedback on it and possibly find someone with a similar setup. thanks

Honestly, I would leave the bottom end alone (other than ARP Rod bolts). Heads/cam/nitrous should get you there. What are your times right now on spray?

the stock bottom end will live for a long time as long as your tune is on. i'm runnin a real close set up to what u wanna do and i've had great luck so far. i'm still runnin the stock pcm and use an fjo controller for the nitrious. also using an ls6 intake as well. my sig has my best times. my best 1/8 is 6.70 @102 w/1.46 60ft

Im running consistant 7.60s now with just spray, tune, lts and ory, and an air lid. I would like to stay with the stock bottom end but I am looking to spray a 300 shot. Plus I think that my number 7 is fried from that awful 99 model intake.

All you need is h/c and a 150 shot... well if put together right it should be right there...

FWIW i have cam and a 100 shot and run 6.60's

Well I am trying to do my best to keep with with two of my friends. I know I wont be able to, but ima try and get as close as i can. One has a 408 with a S-88 making 1042 at the wheels in a 02 Z28 and the other is a 97 TA with a 355 and a t-76 making 812. I know I have along way to go.
