Default Attn TnT users: Power ring fitment concerns?

I'm in the process of installing the power ring setup on m '00 TA and I'm having some serious fitment concerns and I was wondering if anybody esle has dealt with this. What I'm finding is despite my trimming of the lid as per the instructions with the TnT kit, my MAF and the power ring end up VERY far apart as in this photo:

..another view:

I ended up hacking my bellow with a triangular cut and managed to get it to squeeze on:

..but I had to hack the lid so much that the MAF end barley fits inside the lid as you can see here:

Bottom line is, I don't have a good connection between the MAF and lid and the power ring sticks out way to far to have enough room to manuver, mind you I even trimmed the bottom of the airbox right infront of the ring to be able to drop the MAF some, but there's only so much a plastic lid will flex. Anybody esle encounter a problem like this? Any pics of power ring setups somebody could share? Thanks

hmmmm i had to shorten my bellow cause my lid wouldnt lock in place, it overlaped the front too much. Your saying you have the opposite promblem ?? I think your supposed to trim stuff because you have the power ring that extends the lenght of everything.

it looks like the angle is killing him. remember stock the tb is farther away that that power ring. i would try to get it farther down on those tabs and then do the fernco mod and hack that up. i just used a stock connector and hacked that up

The problem I'm having is that it's too long, the power ring extends out pretty damn far! The ring itself sits as far back on the TB as I could get it which appears to be fully seated, but the angle of the MAF and the amount of cutting I had to do was crazy, I was wondering if anybody esle had to hack this much off their lid and are you having any problems sealing the MAF to it after the mods?

it was hard for me as well, attached the bellow on one side and then smashed it on the other side.... it was rough but can be done

looks like you need to hack up the lid a bit more. it looks really long in the first picture, then buy a new bellow

Seems like you were able to reuse the stock bellow is that right? did you just trim it?

oh, ok i thought you were having the opposite problem lol. I had to trim the bellow alot and even cut it at an angle to get it to fit right. I didnt have to take anything off the lid.

I had the same problem with mine. just took alot of trimming and bitching then i got it on.
I am going to change to a plate set-up though and just mount it behind the t-body but use the TNT noids and what not.
