oil every track trip Plugs, you need to make a 1/2 track pass and shut the car off, turn the key off and coast it to the other end of the track, don't take it out beacuse you'll lock the wheel, just click it off. Pull the plugs right there the first run and make sure they are reading well. Do this with a brand new set, as little idle time as possible, and the first run run the car to the 1/2 track point. if they all look good, next run run it out, and do the same.
It will take you about 3 to 5 sets to make sure your setup is safe, once you knwo it's setup and working, I'd put a new set in every track trip, and make sure you go a step colder at a bare minimum. I'd go 2 steps colder to start to be safe.

A good solenoid will last a long time. Over time the piston may get a nipple. In that case simply replacing the piston is all you need. I say its good practice to have the solenoids checked out once a year...
Like JL ws-6 said. Its good to make sure they are firing before every use....

When hitting a bigger shot the oil needs attenion often. the cylinder pressures are out of this world and oil contamination is a real issue. Just watch the massive blow by plume leaving any big sprayed motors open breathers, cough, cough. every trip is not out of the question at all. yes it get expensive, but our motors will live a longer life for sure. Then when your plugs look like below, then it's time to clean them up and re gap for another couple hundred passes, lol.

I change my oil every time I come home from the track. And I only run the car at the track. Wether I make one run, or 10.
I start the car, let it warm up for a couple minutes as well, so all the contaminents are in the oil then drain it while it's hot, this way I get everything out of the motor.
When I pull a valve cover, and it's as clean as a whistle
