100hp "dry" and TR6... What gap??

I know that the stock gap on the LS1's is .060" right?? I dropped my gap down to .032" for the 5177 100hp shot. The car kept feeling like it was wanting to "load up." Meaning that after idling for a while(at a light or train) and then driving off again it would sputter and pop. After driving around for a bit(highway) it would go away. Does this sound to anyone else like I have the plugs closed off too much?? I regapped to .060" and it's been running fine. I've even called the people at NOS and asked them about plug gap and they said to leave it stock. So what do you all think?? .060" and run a risk of trashing stuff?? Or, .038", or so, and risk the sputters???

.035" - .039". .060" will end up not giving you a good flame front. I have ran .038 NA for over 18,000miles and no problems at all. .032 is too close, and probably caused your worries, try the 38!

.38 is too close for a small 100 shot. I'd go with around .45... I have my Tr6s gapped at .40 and I run the TNT 150 shot which is much more agressive than a NOS 100 shot.

.038 is just fine for a 100 shot or even for no nitrous at all. That's what I ran in my '00 for 24,000 miles, my '01 for 15,000 miles, and my '02 for 20,000 with no problems at all. This '02 ran 11.82 internally stock, on drag radials, NA, at full weight, with the plugs set like that. It also dynoed 359 RWHP. No drivability problems at all.

Really, with these outstanding ignition systems, plug gap isn't so critical as it was back in the old days. .035-.049 will likely work just fine with TR-6s and a 100 shot.
