Default Dry question....

ok so Im adding a 2nd stage to my combo. I have a 90mm brute force HSW plate kit on it now jetted for 150. I scored a hsw sudden impact dry kit so Im adding it as the 2nd stage.

Main question is the nozzle placement for the dry hit. I have seen many do it in front of the MAF and rely on the MAF to add the fuel, and the newest, after the MAF. We have hp tuners so the tune is not the issue but the safest nozzle placement is key.

So what is the best nozzle placement? before or after MAf? and safest with the least tuning?

thanks guys.....

HP Tuners does not have a nitrous OS, personally I would just use the Interface for the fueling and run it after the MAF and be done with it.

so that sounds like I will be doing it before the MAF because I dont want to buy another device.... and we tune it for free...

Im sure I can search on nozzle placement, but since I already have a thread... what do you think is the best placement for a 70 degree hsw nozzle... should have the kit tomorrow and figure it out but just wanna ask to be on the safe side. most it will have is like a 75 dry on top of the 150-175 plate....

I tried 3 different places for nozzle platement...all of them leaded to a lean condition...and now my lid looks like swiss cheese..hah

ya that is why Im making sure I have my tuner with me logging everything before I activate the second hit...

From what I have read about 3-4 inches away from the MAF but pointed directly at the wires for the richest condition...

I had mine there...and it brought on multiple random misfire codes.

your OP asked if running a post MAF nozzle would be best, you would need the interface to do this

I have been doing nozzle tuning for many years and feel I have a grasp of what it takes to make it work. However, and here is the real problem, a known working location for one car sometimes does not work for another car. You can see some set-ups in my web site under nozzle tuning. Now with that said, for the price of the Interface, you just can't go wrong fueling your dry hit this way, and now this is my rec rather than messing with nozzle tuning, which worked wonderful for me, the Interface is just easier and repeatable.

I agree on the interface but at the moment I dont have the money to pick that up as well as a wideband. So down the road I will prolly be picking both up.

so this friday were heading to the track and hopefully having the tuner come out, were gonna spray a 50 through the dry stage, log it and see what we can do to keep her safe.
