Your opinions PLEASE!
Do you think 23 degree's of total timing on a 100 shot wet(TNT) kit is to much timing pulled out with 91 pump gas?
This is a H/C car, 11 to one comp. ratio with a 230 degree cam. I normally run 27 degrees total timing for N/A so I am pulling out 4 degrees(which is the rule of thumb).
Your Opinions please.
Thanks,
Glenn

I will be checking for KR next time out. Plugs look good so far. So Cat thinks I should take more out. Six degrees seems like a lot, but definitely safe. I will let you all know if I see KR. Thanks for the input.

Maybe I got a little skeered after my fugging his up...fruitcake forgot to take out the timing and add fuel....results in blown valve and lucky that was it.
Charlie.

Cat3...ouch I hate it when that happens
I know what you mean about being gun shy after hurting something you just spent a ton of time and money on. This is why I asked the question about the total timing amount. I can ATAP the car, but that doesn't mean conditions won't change and put the motor in jepordy. I simnply can't run the ATAP everytime I spray it and besides, it take all the fun away if you have to worry that much about it every waking minute.
I will take it to the track this Friday and try different timing amounts to see what affects it has on ET as well as MPH with different amounts of timing out. I don't want to take out to much timing cuz you can hurt thing with to much timing out as well as to little.
Thanks guys,
Glenn

Its way harder to hit the too little timing wall actually-what i mean is one degree too much and you can detonate especially as you mentioned with temp changes etc...But if you have 1 degree under premium you should be just fine, it takes more in the opposite way to hurt.
Yes, my friend Andrew was very worried, but we are getitng him back together as we type...ok, he is wrenching and i am sick as a dog typing.
algws6, i had ran like 30.4*, but with 116 race gas mixed. I am not good at recommending any of this...i just feel my car, and try and help others, your car may take it like a champ where mine may blow.
