The LS1 engine is a beast. The key to survival is the right parts and the right tune. We have put some pretty large amounts of nitrous in these stock motors however up to a 150 shot is your safety point on the stock bottom end.

Dave, would you say that 150 is safe even if you are already pushing 450+ @ the wheels? That would put u at 600+rwhp on stock rod bolts. Im curious because i want to throw some at my motor my self but i dont have the $$ to build a new motor right now.

Its more then possible, as long as you have even distribution, good fuel and the right tune. We have pushed several cars over the 700rwhp mark on stock bottom ends. I really dont suggest this and im not telling you that you can do it without any problems. The bottom line is, youre on borrowed time and there are no guarantees. When you start pushing your motor over 600, you have to be cognisecnt of the fact that it may break

igot my 98 stock 4 years ago with 75k on it, by 99k it had all the bolt ons and a cam. and at 101k i put the nitrous kit on. on a mustang dyno n/a made 390 and 505 with the nitrous. i added a ram air set up and im puting bigger jets in to get it closer to a 150rwhp shot. using tr-6 plugs gapped at .35 i think. a/f na is 13.0 and on n20 its 12.0. total timing na is 26 or 27 and it pulls 5* when im spraying. i have a racetronix pump and svo 42's.
