FS- 454 BBC turn key engine with extras I am selling the engine out of my Pro Street 65 Buick Special to offset the cost of the new engine that is going in.
I was told by the previous owner that it is a 454 BBC with a chevy crank, and speed pro pistons, 10-1 compression. Not sure about the rods. To be honest with you, I really do not know what is inside of this thing. I have never taken it apart and do not want to. The engine fires right up and idles fine. It could use some new plugs and the carb needs rejetting for sure as the plugs are fouled. It could also use a timing adjustment I am sure. I drove this car around all winter here in Florida with NO issues, NO SMOKE, NO OVERHEATING, NOTHING. Actually I just ran out of gas a few times, lol!
Engine COMES WITH DART intake, DEMON carb (<1000cfm I believe), upgraded rockers, cast heads, long tube headers, and a whole bunch of other goodies. The water pump is terrible looking but works and there is a bolt broken off in the heads...which I did not do for the record. A little effort and it will come out.
This would be a GREAT engine for a street rod or mud buggy/boat. With a small amount of elbow grease, you've got a 400hp/500 ft/lb engine ready to go!
Engine milage is unknown, but I was told it was rebuilt within the last 5 years.
Engine is still in the car, need to remove it soon. Also comes with a TH400, but I think I will keep that for now unless the offer is fair!
I will help with shipping if need be at buyers expense.
