LT1 396" Race Motor/Long block with intake *FOR SALE*
#21
How have you been Andrew? Still building/selling LT1Edit cables?
What is more painfull is realizing I need to sell my '02 Z06 as well... I'm going to miss that car so much. I was getting really good at Auto-X in it (ESP class usually) and was winning my class or second place and got top time of the day at two different events.
I still can't believe nobody has bought this motor. One guy called me and said he would have money in a few weeks and never called back.
Is this motor "too much" for the average Joe or what???
Brian

Hey Brian,
Yep, still doing them. Slowed down a bit here lately, folks probably scaling back on their 'extracurricular' expenses. That's OK tho, doesn't cost me anything to have stuff sit for a little while (run a zero debt business).
I ended up selling my 98Z for less than I put in to the motor alone. I feel your pain of a five figure engine build.
I would say this motor is more than the average Joe needs, but dang, $7k for all of that is a heckuva deal. I think I have more than that in my little 383 street stroker. If I was shoppin' for a motor for a hot rod, this one would be on the short list!
(for people who don't know Brian, well, he's been on the f-body.org fourth-gen and Bay Area lists for, well, forever )

The headers do NOT come with the engine, and in fact have been sold awhile ago.
For the "parts included" price I will include a '94+ fuel rail with 42# Lucas injectors and an Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator already installed...

If someone was serious and offered good money for the short block and/or the top end I'd be willing to go that route. I had one person very interested in the short block, but the compression ended up being an issue for him.

How streetable is the new build? your compression ratio and gigantic cam make me think not haha... but maybe you had other plans, as you previously said you used to drive the car to the track on the old build.
I have some plans , and I just wanted to get some input from you.

I did tell th engine builder I wanted to be able to drive it on the street from time to time though, however I was willing to drive on race fuel... Street use was going to be limited due to the non vented Strange billet brake kits...

I honestly have no idea, since it has never been fired up or driven.

I have a vid or two myself, but not online... I asked a friend if he had any videos saved online for me to share, waiting his reply.
Here are some (crappy) pics though:
3/4 gallon fuel cell that hides under a dummy battery:
I tried to keep it looking as stock as possible, or at least lightly modded as possible.
Nitrous run cut short due to running lean. This was the old motor that did 480rwhp and this was with a NX "100hp" shot, dual 50hp shark nozzles.
