Default Step one Complete

Today I got the new 31 spline spool in the mail. I also ordered a set of carrier bearings, so that I dodn't have to pull the bearings off the Posi carrier.

Already had the car on the lift and the diff pulled out of the rear end. It was a pretty easy install. I love ford 9"s!

Pressed on the new bearings, bolted the ring gear to the spool and popped it back in the case. All done!

Of course I didn't take a single picture...

Still have to:
Take some more weight out
Install the new fuel pump, and plumbing
Get the new tires installed
Work on the rear suspension

Thats a bout the extent of this year's Mod season.

Wow that was a fast mod! It would have taken me a few weeks. I like to savor the installs and do things over at least 3 times before it's right.

What kinda tire? Lets see em!

Tires are gonna be Hoosier QTP DOT 28 X 13.50's. I'd love to go with a taller tire but I don't want to do the body work for it.

Maybe it's time for MiniTubs...

I don't know. Ian had my 12 bolt Spool installed and reset in an hour. I didn't feel a thing Also found out the gears are 44 years old

No need for mini tubes yet. The 28x13.5s fit great. The 325 MTs were bigger. Looks like the wheel wells will need a little triming for any thing else bigger then 28s. Mine only rub when I turn fast and hard on the return road.

Good Deal Ryan. It will be great to see your car finally hook and run!

Very nice Ryan
I think we need to set up a day at the track and get together like the old days. We also need a dyno day this winter just because.
