Well my wife and ijust found out that we are haveing a baby. The only really bad thing about this is the timing couldn'nt be worse for her. I'm leaving for Iraq again in a month. So i'll come back to about a 3 or 4 month old kid .

Well I hope you have some good luck over there. Dog handler, for IEDs? or for search and seizure?

congratz, dunno the regs for the navy but the AF just came out with a thing where you get a 10 day permissive TDY when your kid is born. I bet one of my buddies is pissed right now about that. just got done taking leave for having a kid like 2 weeks ago and that reg just came out like this week lol. I too am going on a deployment, only for 4 months in Kuwait tho.

Could be worse, she could become pregnant while your gone. Just kidding, you get to come back and bond with your kid.

Congratulations! You will find that being a dad is one of the most rewarding things you will do in life. I am rapidly realizingt this for the first time since having our little boy a couple weeks ago. It is just a shame that you can't be there to see him come into the world.
