Riding in a car that has a 408 with the MS4, is different than a car with the LS1 and MS4.

Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation (111 LSA Standard)
Why does your sig say you have a 9" w/4.11's and then further down it says powertrax w/3.73's? Just curious what gears you have in there. The 4.11's would probably be a better choice with the MS4 IMO.

As for being too big, that is a relative question. It basically boils down to whether or not you can tolerate certain things that might be completely annoying to someone else. Only you can decide this because everyones opinion will vary greatly on what is tolerable. Is this car a daily driver, or a car you enjoy on the weekends?

Also, I completely agree with Crazylane's statement. Comparing the cam in a 408 is not the same as a 346ci LS1. A 60+ cubic inch difference in the 408 will make the same cam act completely different. They will both still have the same powerband, but the 408 will exhibit much better drivability.

well, it has the ford 9" w/ 4.11 gears now, i added it to the sig but forgot to remove the old setup from there...oops

and what about me ppl! i want to ride in the monster 408 lol

anyway i see everyones point, and i probably will go with something in the low 230's. id like to hit mid 11's with my setup, car weighs 3250 with no driver 3440 with one. ill also have my lts installed soon w/a cutout.

That 9" and those gears will eat some power as well. The gears help to get it rolling but that 9" robs some power at the same time...LOL

Brandon is going to have to break out some extra seat belts to fit us all in there..

if you have a good tuner, dont worry about getting an ms4.. i DD mine 50ish miles a day.. it drives just like a 230ish or high 220ish duration cam..
if i had a crappy tuner, i would absolutely hate it though..

as for driving a 408 with an ms4 and trying to decide if you would like an ms4 in an ls1 is a joke.. it would be COMPLETELY different animals.. power bands, power, tq, driveability, etc.. everything will be different...
its a huge cam for an ls1, fairly small cam for a 408..

Oh, its a good choice no doubt wasnt saying that. Just eats some power.
But the feeling of the 9 back there with some good lca's and phb and shocks is awesome! Even my passengers noted the difference. Just a solid feeling.

scott gomer.. he is one of the best in the south..

PRCls6 heads
ported FAST 90/90
ms4
LT's Xpipe into 1 chambers before axle
lid
410s
Vig. 4k stall (is actually closer to a 4600)

basically a H/C full bolt on car..

my dyno numbers arent that impressive because of the dyno i get tuned on.. it averages about 25rwhp low and the tq is WAY off.. we just use it cause it is close, and we dont care about HP numbers so it doesnt matter..
cam only i did 385rwhp..
right now im sitting at about 425/410

have not been to the track since the heads but im shooting for a 6.9@97 (track doesnt have that good of a DA or i would expect faster)..
cam only in 90 degree weather i ran a 7.5@90, no tune for gears or intake.. that run in 45 degrees would have been a high 7.2 run at 94..

im going March 1st to another track to get some updated times.. im not tuned for the heads, but they should still be pretty good.. if you want shoot me a PM after march 1st and ill let you know updated times..

PS. like said, i drive the car 50 miles a day without a problem, perfect manners..

You should be careful with those and match the rest of the valvetrain accordingly.
Many failures with those lifters.

They're good for certain applications. Wong can tell you about when he installed them. IIRC he tried using them once, maybe he'll chime in
