I haven't even moved the car off the jackstands yet. I still need to fab some brackets for the lca's and the rearend is just "mocked up" and not really bolted down solid yet. I just had the rearend installed to move the car around when I had some other cars coming/going out of here so there's no gear lube or anything in it. After today I should be able to start making progress on that though. I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and having Tom tune the car for me. I have a HUNW race coming up on the 22nd and I seem to be running out of time,,,,,, again lol....

I took the car down to Wong's and had him tune the car for me tonight. I was going to tune it myself but my laptop took a dump and I'm running out of time to get the car sorted out before my first headsup race. Soooo, the car baselined at 474rwhp with the old tune from the last cam. The final numbers were 490rwhp/437rwtq. I'm pretty happy with the numbers for a little ol' 370ci with a plastic intake manifold lol... The car was running out of fuel on the top-end so a new fuel pump is in order.

Videos coming shortly.

Mike

ps: Big props to Tommy for tuning my car tonight on such short notice,,, thanks Tom!!

pps: Also a big thanks to Cody for hauling my car down to the dyno!!

Awesome congrats, looking forward to seeing the videos of it. So have you had a chance to drive it much? What fuel pump are you running on it right now?

Haven't really driven it yet as it still needs tags and insurance, but I scooted it around the neighborhood a little bit. Feels snappy with those 4.30 gears lol... Believe it or not, the fuel pump is a bone stock 1997 LT1 pump. It held 58psi until 4600 and then by 6500 it was down to 33psi....

No problem Mike. Yeah get rid of that stock 1997 fuel pump and retune. Do you have the ability to scan that dyno graph and post??? I should have asked before I left. I could do it for you if you can't. Let me know.

Congrats again on the black beast. Hopefully soon we can do something to a green monster to match.

Hey Mike - just watched the video and it sounds just fine/better on my computer. I think something might be up with your computer speakers. Just FYI

490rwhp at 6600
437rwtq at 5300

-Mustang Dyno
-Ford 9"
-28" full slicks

Once I switch over to a single plane Vic Jr. intake it should peak closer to 7000, and probably pick up a good 15-25 horsepower. I think the L76 intake is choking it above 6500rpm...

I'm not sure why, but it sounds better after being hosted on youtube. ? Maybe they have some kind of filter to smooth out the sound?

Mike
