Nitrous is the best bang for your buck and safe if setup correctly, but you won't have that power all the time and it has a limit on how long you'll have that power depending on how big of a shot you run and how big of a bottle you use.
Superchargers give you that power boost all the time, but due to the limited cowl clearance on Camaros you are limited to centrifugal superchargers. Also superchargers can be kinda expensive when you take into account the brackets, relocated intake, bigger fuel injectors, bigger pump(depending on how much power you are expecting), and the supercharger itself.
Turbochargers are a lot more street friendly and allow you to cruise in low boost on the street without having to worry about spinning your tires at every stoplight while allowing you to run high boost for the track with a simple flick of the switch on a boost controller, but they can be pretty expensive and require an intercooler and relocated radiator for front mount setups.

So I think overall it just depends on 3 things: your budget, the power you want, and how streetable you want to keep the car.

I would say turbo or NOS. Superchargers are cool and all but you are robbing horse power to gain horse power. Also with a supercharger you have to buy differnt pulleys to gain boost from what I'm told. Like the other guy said, to gain boost with a turbo, all you need to do is turn it up on the boost controller

For 5-6 grand you can get a pretty nice turbo setup and be at around 600 like you want.!!

Yep Nitrous or Turbo with that budget, Nitrous can be more expensive on the long run due to refills, I forgot to mention that.

hey if you only want like 50hp? why spend 6gs on a power adder and just build up your motor more? if you wanna go crazy id look into a remote turbo system i talked to a guy about putting a 72mm on my 69 elky it would have been about 3500 to 4 gs and it would have been abouut 650 700 at the crank with my mods on a 355 sbc but again the air filter would be under the car so if you drive it every day that would be no bueno lol... put it this way your gonna need to do injectors fuel pump headgaskets id do a good forced induction piston ring set tune and lets be honest your gonna have to tear abuncha shyt apart either way to do a super charger or or turbo. brackets, oil plumbing ,heat exchanger, intercooler and you have to budget for suspension rear end tranny to be able to use all that power ya kno? either way its gonna be a sweet

Have you considered the STS turbo? Someone told me that they paid $4500 for a single turbo setup basic kit. Looks like really easy install. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnFA93_U9hY
