Default Web Design?

Anyone in here know anything about making webpages? I'm going to be putting together a fairly simple webpage for my new dot.com. I have some available webspace through Comcast that I'm already paying for, might as well put it to use. The only problem is that I don't know what kind of bandwidth/traffic it's capable of? If I used the Comcast web space, I'd have to re-direct to my dot.com somehow.

Anybody in here familiar with this kind of thing? If so, please contact me directly.

quickshift@comcast.net

Thanks,
Mike

the last thing any person buying something online wants to see is a redirect to a comcast webpage. spend the ~80 bucks a year and get a webhost ANYWHERE else, dreamhost, godaddy, network solutions, anywhere is better then a redirect to free webspace.

if you're going to be selling anything you also need a secure certificate and all that fun stuff too. any good web designer should be able to set you up with something. If you're doing a shopping cart or similar make sure you get someone that isn't going to overcharge you for something that is relatively simple like setting up a pre-made cart and doing mild customizing.

There are piles and piles of "omg i'm the greatest designer ever" web developers out there that aren't worth the overpriced laptop they sit in front of and a lot of talented people that will get you setup at a very fair price. finding the right person to work with is like finding a good mechanic.

Thanks for the info. Yeah everyone's been telling me to go with a seperate web hosting service. I got my domain name registered with Godaddy so I'll probably just pay for their hosting service since I've got a lot of recomendations from other people about them.

Looks like I found someone to do the job and the price is very fair.

We are making a site

http://www.ardsucks.com/

Shop over in Houston that has raped alot of there customers. We have a thread in the lounge on the Nation But anyway the site is under construction but the guy working on it seems to know his stuff. I'm going to have him do a site for my step dad who owns a RV Repair facility.
