new guy hey guys hows it goin. just picked up a 99 vette last month, few mods already done, mostly was a weekend show car so its got lambo doors and a big stereo. as far as engine mods, im just gonna point out the obvious but tell you its stock... custom grind solid cam by synergy in cali, lt headers straight pipe back, everything else is stock, oh and it might have a baby shot on it lol. anyways, im really looking forward to the strip this year, and cant wait to meet some of you so i can get some knowledge on the ls1, i have always owned mustangs, this is my first bowtie.. pics up later sorry.

haha i was just poking fun, im actually kinda broke lol. i was reading the craigslist stuff thread, it just seemed like that guy was pissing everyone off and acting like he will beat anyone. you going to pir tonight?
yeah if it stays dry... well shoot me a pm if you want to meet up and roll over there, i might run it tonight, might not, either way i hate showing up not knowing anyone so it would be nice to meet up with someone before and roll together... im going to post pics in a few minutes.

Tell me more about the custom solid grind cam.
Don't usually see those on street cars. They tend to be a pain as far as keeping the correct valve lash.
Must be revving pretty high to leave behind the comforts of hyd cam profiles.
Must be running beefy springs as well.

Verdad Gallardo turk, im in hillsboro. i can meet anywhere tho, we just have a friends kids bday party to attend till like 530.
agformula, im not sure on the specifics, im kinda just going off what the last owner told me. He said his goal was a good street/strip car, small shot and was hoping to hit high tens. he said it was a solid grind cam and gave me a reason but I cant remember why and dont want to sound stupid. He also said they did some head work, i have no clue how to check for that.. Its a very fast revving motor, but im coming from a stang and dont have any experience in chevy to compare to.. Its a pretty loud engine, rockers/lifters are pretty loud and I lost the tune that was on it when the battery died so im not sure how smooth it is up top now but it still pulls like hell. I was worried about the excessive rocker noise but i got such a good deal on it, i could afford to rebuild if needed.. could you please tell me more tho, i dont know much about cams and dont want to front it for something its not sooo yeah, i would love it if someone could check my shiz out and let me know realistically what could be done to it the way it is.

i wouldnt be able to meet up till 730, just found out the party starts at 530 but we dont have to stay too long.. how about we meet at the big parking lot behind chevron on hall/scholls. its by the mall, across from tbell and the lamp store. its right on the hwy and next to gas if anyone else wants to join. i can be there at 730-745 at the latest.
Nice ride. If he did switch to a solid cam, the entire valve train would be louder. Would also require a change of rockers. Easy way to pop of a valve cover and see if rockers are stock.
If we ever meet up, I am happy to look at it and download the tune from the car. May be able to get an idea what is done.

yeah everything about the valvetrain is loud, he said the whole vavletrain was new and updated for racing. yeah hopefully we can get together sometime soon, beers on me of course..

todd, sorry, i just noticed your pm from last night. we expected it to he crazy busy but it was practically a ghost town. left by 930 bc there were like 10 cars making passes while everyone just hung out..
