Tell me more about the custom solid grind cam.
Don't usually see those on street cars. They tend to be a pain as far as keeping the correct valve lash.
Must be revving pretty high to leave behind the comforts of hyd cam profiles.
Must be running beefy springs as well.

agformula, im not sure on the specifics, im kinda just going off what the last owner told me. He said his goal was a good street/strip car, small shot and was hoping to hit high tens. he said it was a solid grind cam and gave me a reason but I cant remember why and dont want to sound stupid. He also said they did some head work, i have no clue how to check for that.. Its a very fast revving motor, but im coming from a stang and dont have any experience in chevy to compare to.. Its a pretty loud engine, rockers/lifters are pretty loud and I lost the tune that was on it when the battery died so im not sure how smooth it is up top now but it still pulls like hell. I was worried about the excessive rocker noise but i got such a good deal on it, i could afford to rebuild if needed.. could you please tell me more tho, i dont know much about cams and dont want to front it for something its not sooo yeah, i would love it if someone could check my shiz out and let me know realistically what could be done to it the way it is.

If we ever meet up, I am happy to look at it and download the tune from the car. May be able to get an idea what is done.
todd, sorry, i just noticed your pm from last night. we expected it to he crazy busy but it was practically a ghost town. left by 930 bc there were like 10 cars making passes while everyone just hung out..
