I work sat or else I would head up that way. Long drive from Vancouver, so time frame sucks.

I wanted to make it, actually live about 15 minutes from there. Working nights and just woke up. You'll have to post your numbers.

Well maybe you shoulda’ been there man!! I’m just hassling you. It was a great time. Very professional but still relaxed enough to be fun. Here are my results:

Specs:
-2001 5.3 with 106K, now 109K’ish
-Completely stock internals
-Edelbrock dual intake
-Used/rebuild Speed Demon 750
-Ebay 4th gen SS headers, 1 ¾” Primary, 3” collectors
-3” straight pipes to Thrust mufflers dumped at the axle
-Rebuilt TH350
-2000RPM converter
-Original 2.73 gears

The torque was what I expected, but about 400RPM lower than I expected to see it. The horsepower however was less than I expected, and 1000RPM lower then where a 5.3 SHOULD reach peak at!? WTF! I expected a peak of about 275HP @ 5500RPM. Any ideas what might cause the HP to come in nearly 1000RPM earlier than in a stock configuration?

Right now I am addressing the obvious: A set of COMP 918s to address any valve control issues, Installing an MTX-L wideband AFR gauge to get my fuel and ignition tunes on the fast track. And I am saving $$ and researching cams. Top contenders are TSP 224R or 228R.

I’m open to any thoughts, questions or suggestions! Thanks guys!
