New build for 2015
Yes, I sold it at the end of 2009....big mistake.
My real mistake was going out to the track last June and watch Ron, and in doing so, another buddy was tuning on his BBC turbo Camaro. The bug bit me again, real hard. I called the buyers of my car to try and buy it back, and would have paid what ever. It didn't work out, so I decided to build a better one

There are quite a few turbo cars running around here now, so coming down to play would be great fun.

Our other turbo LS car guys are working on stepping up their games.
So if all goes well, we should be able to have some good races.
Now the track condition? That's a different story.

Ron
496 blow through carb on E85.
Made 1250 to the wheels with a really loose converter @ 17 psi.
He has a new PTC now, so we will see what it does now.
His mid 8 runs were on 10 psi
Tim has a Mustang he has been racing.
The person Ron mentioned with the 67 turbo Camaro ran with us a few times towards the end.
As you saw in your YB build post, Nate is back in town.
I'm sure there are a few more I'm probably missing as I was out of the loop for awhile.
PTC converter will be here Friday.
Worked on fuel side all weekend. Decided to tuck everything away so you can't see it, so I fabbed up this mount system. Actually got the idea from someone doing a 70 GTO twin turbo build.
I backed off my coil overs so they are loose to try and get the stance where I want it. So I ordered 2" shorter springs than what I currently have. I'll probably adjust them up some. Also doing final assembly of hot parts.
Gutted more of the wiring rats nest from under the dash. My biggest challenge left is plumbing up the radiator hoses. Pulling my hair out. Water pump outlet is 1-1/4", water neck is 1-1/2" and radiator is 1-3/4"
Decided to get some silicone ends and 1-1/2" aluminum tube and treat it just like I was plumbing my intercooler.

Car is looking great Corey!!
Have you thought about doing AN style hoses? That is how I am doing mine.

My plan is still to do the dragtour every day, I just need to get off my butt and send you the form.
Speaking of which, I have a few questions. My assumption is that the event at the track will be mixed in with the regular test-tune/drag racers and not a track rental type of event, is that correct?
Again, going with my above assumption, with PIR being and evening race, is there anything organized for Saturday day?
It will be quite a haul racing late Saturday night and then hitting Bremerton by 9am the next day.
A for the AN hoses, everything is AN minus my radiator hoses. I've spent a damn fortune doing my black and nickel theme.
Done mocking things and this weekend started doing final assembly. Soooo damn close. Also swapped out the rear springs and now having it sitting exactly how I want.
Also figured out my coil mounts finally. That's 100% done along with the wires.

Yes, Friday we will have our own lane at Woodburn with the Oldies but Goodies testing day.
Saturday I am trying to get PIR to open up early for us but have not received a call back from them *Surprise surprise* We will be running with the usual Saturday night drags.
Sunday at Bremerton we will be running with the NPSA group.
Slowly working my way down the list. I was going to swap the lifters as well, but holding off on that for now.
Once I had the intake off, a few days later I noticed an injector harness plug completely off an injector. I found a couple others not fully snapped on. The thought at this point is that maybe the connector not being fully on is causing my issue. I'm still going to swap out the coils as well just to be sure
I purchased a used set and have been waiting 11 days to get them only to find out today they never got shipped. Things are working out, it's just time..
I checked plug wires the previous weekend and did find one bad. I also didn't have resistor plugs, so I changed those, and then added more ground wires to the block. I really thought this would fix it.
It's still early yet, but right now I'm not liking the spool time on these turbos and how long it takes to max boost. Could be I'm running too light of a spring in the WG and killing how quickly things spool by dumping too much exhaust. I'll be swapping to 9psi springs before I drive it again.
I'm running the BW 66mm, JGS 40mm gates, stock truck coils, msd 8.5mm wires. I'm not using the boost controller yet as I have not mounted up the solenoids yet.
I'll have the new coils on it mid week and will test drive it.
I just installed this tonight.
I've been trying to keep the interior of the car as clean as possible. So no gages, and pulled the 5" monster tach and installed the Holley 3.5" touch screen dash.
While it may seem small to be able to read each reading, you can setup each gage reading to have a warning light. Super nice to have this many read outs right in front of me.
Another nice feature is being able to change my 2 step within a few seconds via this touch screen, and do other small efi changes like my A/F ratio, timing at WOT...and the list goes on.
Can't wait to try it out this Saturday night.

Has anyone else helped you with the tune or have you been doing it all?
I haven't had to mess with throttle enrichment at all. The IAC setting was a bit troublesome at first, and fortunately for me, my buddy Ron was over who understood it more.
What I haven't been able to wrap my head around is their boost controller. So I picked up an AMS-500 this week and will throw that on for now. At least that will let me turn it up this weekend and get it off the WG springs. Hope to drop the ET quite a bit more from last weekend.
I should be ready to fire up in the next couple weeks, so you may be getting a call for me, if I have trouble.
Do you have "gas " selected in the drop down selection? Or are you using E85 numbers to tune with?
I reached out to the Division 6 guy to get the cage inspected, but haven't heard back. Once it's tagged, I'll switch over to E85 and lean on it.
That's cool you're getting pretty close. Just in time for good weather.
Plus it smells so good, just make sure you have the $300 NTK O2 sensor...not that cheap $100 bosh
