Default Shipping costs

Hey guys... I live in Omaha, Nebraska, and after looking through all the sponsor sites for panhard bar and some LCA's, i've come to the conclusion that everyone prices about the same. I'm in no hurry to get them, so i was just wondering if anyone in my area could tell me if they have a preferences to who has the cheapest shipping? Thanks alot

Depending on what you plan to do with the car. LCA's and PHB's can and are very different. If you are just looking for something to upgrade from the factory LCA, then true, most will just be a poly/poly ended arm. But when it comes to a PHB, my reccomendation would be at least one end be a "rod end" PHB. Makes adjustment alot easier, especialy if you plan on lowering the car. when you start mixing ends you will start seeing a price varience between shops IMHO.

If you looking for deals on shipping. check the sponsor section. Every now and then sponsors will offer free shipping on certain parts.

I'm probably going to get a UMI adjustable panhard rod, as that one looks to be pretty good quality for a decent price... costs about the same as a BMR non-adjustable, and has a rod end on the rear axle side.

I know they offer a package with a panhard rod and LCAs, so they might be worth checking out... they're a sponsor, so you can find them in the list to the right.

I've had good luck w/ all of the sponsors: Tom Byrne, Thunder, MTI, you-name-it.

It is Christmastime, and several of them have sales this time of year. Check out the Sponsor/GP forum. Tom and several others have also been very helpful over the years answering questions I've e-mailed them. It's good that you are patient (it can save ya a lotta grief), as they are all busy this time of year and may take several days to answer...

And as pointed out above, there are differences. If you lower the car, you will NEED to get an adj PHB to center the rear end. I'd stay away from BMR in that case. They had an issue with breakage in the adj area a while back. My Hotchkis is quite strong, but it doesn't have a rod type end even tho it's adj. You want rod ends for road racing, solid for drag racing. The BMR LCAs work for me, but again if you're focus is road racing you want to go something with rod ends. BMRs are solid. And if you're lowering the car you'll also need relocation brackets for the LCAs. I ran BMRs for 2 years without any issues. And you can't go wrong with Tbyrne. Tom is the best!

Bmr makes pretty good stuff in my opinion. All their stuff has held up to my abuse so far If I had it all to do over again i would go with rod ends but not from bmr, they use cheap rod ends in their stuff. I would probely look into sphoon or mybee on of the other race shops, madman, or billingsly not as pretty as some of the others, but alot stronger. if you are looking to road race ask boyce "NATE SS", what he recomends, he seems to know his stuff when it comes to suspension.

You don't necessarily NEED a panhard rod if you lower your car. Really depends on the car. My 93 lowered right down. My 01 shifted almost an inch... Other friends same thing Mikey97's car is pretty damn low and he doesn't have any suspension stuff...

That UMI seems like the real deal and it will serve all purposes well. the one side rod with twist in corners and prevent bind while the poly will obsorb the impact of bumps. I tried TWO Rod\rod combos both said they would be quiet and they were both full of ****. I can take alot of noise etc which anyone who takes a ride in my past cars will agree but that rod\rod stuff is really annoying on bumps.

JMHO but what the hell do I know

I would recommend LCA brackets if you lower the vehical that will make a big difference. If you looking for handling and ride shocks and 17 inch wheels if your running 16's will make the biggest difference.
