Gonna dyno it today...
Well, I made it down to San Diego alright, though there were a few scary moments driving through the mountains in NorCal, what with the ice, slush and freezing rain. The quick tune I got from Jason was doing pretty well at first, but started doing some weird stuff. Sometimes the TCS would turn itself off, and I wouldn't be able to turn it back on, it would randomly idle at 1500 RPM, and sometimes after throwing it into neutral the RPM's would slowly climb to like 3000 and hang there, bad enough that I could put it in gear and the car would accelerate without me pushing the gas pedal. Like I said, weird stuff. It also started throwing a SES light again.
I got the exhaust all welded up yesterday, and redid the clamps at the headers, since they were leaking pretty bad. It also hit me that it didn't start acting funny until sometime after I pulled the air pump, so I figured that maybe the gangster electrical-taping I did on the vacuum line might be leaking. So I put a silicone covered screw in it and reset the PCM. I also backed out the TB stop screw to approx. where it was stock, and redrilled the hole out a few bit sizes, because I figured having the blade open so far may have been making funky things happen as well. The PCM is still learning the cam again, but so far no SES or any other funny business. Hopefully one of my "fixes" took care of it.
So, I made an appointment for a dyno run at The Dyno Shop here in San Diego for 3:00 today so I could see where I'm at. Just kind of a baseline to see whats going on with my current tune. When I get HPTuner in a few weeks I'll screw around with it, and probably book some more dyno time so I can do some dyno tuning.
Anyhow, wish me luck! I'll post my results later this evening, no matter how embarassing!

Here it is! For some reason I couldn't get both HP/TQ and A/F ratio on the same graph, so I did two seperate ones. Not too bad for not really being tuned yet. I thought the TQ was a little low for this cam, but I'm sure the proper tune will bring it up. And damn, I knew this thing was loud, but when I heard WOT from outside the car I almost **** myself! I'm really gonna have to watch how I drive, cause you could probably hear this thing a mile off! Tell me what you guys think!

Impressive! Depending on the temp & humidty, you will have a few HP less in SAE #s. But once you get the a/f to stay around 12.8, you should gain most of it back. And the TQ does seem a little low. What gears are you running?

Don't believe the graph from the WinPEP program I downloaded. Those are the SAE numbers. The uncorrected numbers are 395.1/364.9 . If I followed everything Jason was tweaking when he did my tune, all he fooled with was really some idle, hot start stuff, and codes of course. Basically just driveability stuff. Didn't fool around with fuel or spark or anything. Besides that, it's one of his earlier tunes for his 231/237. We didn't do any logging or tuning to tailor it for my cam, since he wasn't able to make it over the last weekend I was up there. So, I'm sure there's plenty of power left to be found in the tune. That and I really need a lid! It's a fair bit off of the 417/402 dyno posted by TSP, especially in the TQ department. However, I did find one other 3rd party dyno besides mine, which was 390/370, which is actually really close to what I'm putting out now.
I'm running the stock 3.42's.
Here's the weather data from the run:
Absolute barometric pressure: 30.17 in.Hg.
Vapor pressure: 0.22 in.Hg.
Intake air temperature: 68.9 F
Oh and here's a scan of the uncorrected dyno run:

Wow... nice numbers! You're still running the stock lid on that thing? Especially with the cam in there, you'll pick up quite a bit with just the addition of a new lid. I'm thinking about 10 rwhp can be had from just taking out the stock lid and putting on an aftermarket one... plus another 10 or so with a good tune. I'm thinking you'd easily get up over 400 rwhp with those two things.
