Default Fastest North American Production Car List

As I was saying at Hooters, here is the list that I found on the vette forum that is really interesting.

Also, don't shoot the messenger!!! All they did was compile a list of mag test of stock cars. I know that some are capable of better times but at least this list uses the same mags through out. It was interesting to see the bad times Motor Trend and Road/Track are able to get all the time dating back to the '60's. Goes to show they have been on the Euro band wagon for a long time.

I like how the '69 L88 427 Vette does 13.56 @ 111.1mph, and the '69 ZL1 Vette does 10.5 @ 132.. ZL1 uses the L88 427 IIRC? It's been awhile since I was in the obsessive information stage about the '69 L88.. Doesn't the ZL1 just have a roll bar and some weight reduction or something, plus a few other performance things, but not much power-wise? *Shoots Eric*

No, the ZL1 was an all aluminum 427 that made close to 600hp. Only two vettes were made and a handful of Camaros. That L88 number was with those stock skinny little redline tires. Change the tires to a radial and watch out. But then, that would not be stock would it.

I do find it very interesting that the first LS1 Camaro on there is the 1999 SS. I guess they must have had a much better driver than I am. lol Eric, you must be pretty happy to see your Z06 on the first page.

I notice that the first two Mopars are Super Stock cars. Those old Super Stock cars are a blast to watch.

Cool list. Thanks Eric! Interesting that a ZR1 is faster than the new Cobras, or the Cobra R. Even more interesting (to me) is the time for my car. Almost exactly what mine ran stock (13.53 @ 105) @ Bremerton. Tho they do list 325hp for it, and 2000s were only 320.

And I now know I want to race Vipers & Modenas from a dig!
