Default TB porting has begun!

And let me tell you, it's a pain in the ***! Actually, it's not too bad, just slow going. I think I'm about 1/2 way through now. I've got it pretty much in the shape I want, just have to finish removing some more material. Then I can cut the shaft, knife edge the blade, and drill the holes. Here's a few pics: 1 is stock, 2-3 are of the epoxy fill (I used this stuff called FastSteel), and 4-5 are as it sits now. Probably finish her up tomorrow.

How many hours into it? That looks good, I might take up TB porting while I'm waiting on parts for my car.

And you completely closed off / covered up your IAC why? Not trying to be a smart-***....well, OK, yes I am. But I hope you have a plan.

"Then I can cut the shaft, knife edge the blade, and drill the holes."

Hopefully that is what he is talking about drilling.

I hope you put something into the hole for the iac as the expoxy has a habit of running all down in there. For future reference, I would use a paper towel dipped in oil on the end that's getting stuffed into the iac hole. It makes cleanup a lot easier as a fudged up iac is no fun. Good job btw. Mine looks green from using the 1.47 special at wally world.

Well, she's all finished up and back on the car. Fired right up and idled just where she did before the TB came off. Man, throttle response is 100 times better! The difference is really amazing! I don't know if she'll see any gains on the dyno, but she feels alot crisper now, big SOTP difference. It even seems like she holds idle better after a rev now, for whatever reason. I couldn't be happier with the results!

That's why I used that FastSteel stuff. It's a putty that comes in a tube, and you knead it with your fingers to mix the two parts, and after that it has a workable life of 5-10 minutes. Hardens completely in 1 hour. I stuck my pinky finger into the IAC hole to keep it clear as I packed the FastSteel in. Worked like a charm.

Here's a pic of the finished product:
