Default Test and Tune

I just checked the Woodburn Dragstrip schedule and the first open day is a test and tune on march 13.

Couple questions.

Can anyone with any car come to this? Or is it just for certain classes?

What does my car need to pas safety check? battery hold down? drive shaft loop?

Anyone else go to these things? how many runs can you get in? Says gates open at 8am racing starts at 9am when do they close?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I hope I see lots of ls1's there so I can shop for exhaust

If you are racing the 99, it should have most if not all the stuff you need.

The guys down there can tell what Woodburn requires, but generally you need a loop if you are running faster than 13 sec with drag radials or slicks. You do need a battery hold down & fluid catch cans, but the 99 comes with all of that. And you need an M2000 helmet to run 13s or better.

After that it comes down to how fast you are running. Faster = more stuff.

And in general, any street legal car can run in TnT's.

Oh ya forgot to mention I will be running the 99.

Don't forsee it breaking 13 so I geuss just make sure all the safety gear is there and functioning. (dont see why it wouldnt be)

And I am going to assume that T&T is open to all people.

Hehe. LACR is retarded. They require every car running faster than 13.99 to have a DS safety loop. Even on street tires. If not for that I'd have run the TA already.

Anyone here race at Woodburn?

Can anyone say for sure what the DS loop is at this track? 13.99 or 12.99? I hope to see sub 14's but not sub 13's for awhile

Thanks for the help.

They don't check for DS loop at least the 15 times I've gone there.

You need to make sure your battery doesn't move alot they don't really check it, they just kinda wiggle it.

You need a Snell (or whatever) 90 or 95 helmet can't remember which one, any new good helmet will do.

Thats really about it they get a little more up in your grill if you go under 12's but above that they are cool. They even let me run in shorts one hot day just said next time don't wear shorts (I had pants in the back if I had to change).

Doesn't mean you won't get some new guy that is trying to throw his "power" around though. I recommend doing the Friday night drags the air is better and the atmosphere is much more relaxed. Think it starts at 1 and goes until dark....

Is that for everyone or is it because you run under a certain time? When I raced my 67 at PIR I didnt need one unless I was under 13.00 I think, and all convertibles needed one.

I think it is for if you are faster than 13.99, OR if you have T-Tops. So if you have T-Tops, you need the helmet.

Its always been 13.99 and under at any track I've been to including PIR, they are kinda wierd about it though first time I was there I didn't think I needed one either and the pit guy flipped out when he saw my log in and no helmet. Weird..

You do not need an SA rated helmet for your car, just the M2000.
