OK. So I'm coming home from Renton on 405 in the HOV lane (it's about 10:30 pm). Hit Kirkland and I come up on a white '04 Cobra. He matches me and revvs a bit but I know they are patrolling heavily tonight (by the Costco exit -- their favorite place to catch speeders). So I punch it hoping he would go by and take the ticket while I passed by safely (I love doing that
). Sure enough, he flew by me and my Valentine 1 went off so I drop way back on the gas. But this Cobra slowed too. Nuts. So we go by the speed trap and now we are getting close to my exit so I figured I would just casually slip behind him and make my way to the exit. No such luck. The three (count them) three cars ahead of him move over. Nothing in front of him or me now for miles. But my exit is coming up. So I turn my turn signal on to let him know I want to move over but he stays right with me, basically telling me that if I want the lane I will have to take it from him. So I goose it
and he takes off
. I slip in behind him and take my exit. But he burned me bad. I have to go to the corner now and hang my head in shame.

LOL!
You know ...... I know how to make your car beat him

Howard, you passed up a Cobra? Go to your room, you've been BAD!
Tho with your setup, especially if he changed the pulley, you probably wouldn't take him from a roll. Go see Ellis when you get out of your room.

Those cobras are pretty quick from a roll, What color was it? Don't feal bad i got pulled by one at the track
only once
only once
It was a white 2004. He didn't really sound stock though. Not gassed or supercharged, but definately more beef than what I have heard under a stock Cobra.

They are supercharged from the factory... the one I've seen at the track runs high 12s all day long stock.Originally Posted by howierd42

the silver one that beat me ran 12.30 first run, and 12.35 on the second run but i don't think it was stock, if i remember correctly he had a pully, exhaust, programer and nitto's.

Yeah, I recall seeing them running hi 12s stock, and low 12s with a pulley. A good kill if you can bag one. All I have is a Saleen & a Lightning so far. I've yet to race a Cobra.

Unless of course the 12.3x Stang I lost to was a Cobra. Is that the black one you were talking about @ PR Jason? Good race, but alas he took me down. Originally Posted by WAHUSKER

I could beat 13.7 bone stock, even with the extra weight from the convertible hydrolics and mechanics. Do you mean 12.7?

I don't remember the color, but he had the passenger side headlight removed for some reason. Yhea they can be fast, but most of them i have seen are stock. I got a guy up here that works with me he's got one and if you guys are interested i could probely set you up a race, he has an exhaust and some suspension bullshit, best run of 12.9, and he drives i like a *****, short shifts and evrthing. So if you can beat 12.9, and want to beat a cobra just let me know.

Passenger fender well is where their intake is and if they have a cold air kit it'll be basically behind the headlight so that's probably why he had it removed. Same thing for Supras. The cobra is a lot of a driver car if you're good you'll get good numbers if you suck you'll stink. I took one for a test drive and it was very picky about it's launches.
I still have yet to see a bolt on cobra run crazy times at the track. High 12's and low 13's, I raced one on a VERY hot day he had 315 DR's and I had Yokohamas. My car was COMPLETELY stock (the 01 WS6) He had a cat back and air intake. I ran a 13.6 at 106 I think he ran a 13.1 at 109 not really that impressive really.
But 32 valves supercharged on the highway is hard to beat! But its still a piece of crap rustange. couldn't believe the cheap hook post just like my escort, if fact the whole car reminded me of my old escort GT (DD when I had the 93)
