Default Wheel weights???

HMMMMM Corvette garage is having a sale on polished Z06 wheels. They are aftermarket and about 3 pounds heavier a piece. Now on the WS6 when I went to the 11 inch wheel even though it was Fikse with the tire it was a substantial difference, I could feel those big meats back there.

Is this really a big difference? So the stock wheel is 20lb the aftermarket is 23lbs. There is a lifetime warranty on structure so hopefully they are relatively strong. I could get them for free basically with shipping I could sell my Z06 wheels for a little more than the repos cost!

What you guys think???

Bobby

So you think Chrome instead of Polish? If I did that I could just have the OEM wheels chrome plated. It would cost about $500 but the OEM wheels are alot better quality then the repro's....

Polished looks nice, but chrome looks WAY better with red IMO. There is a night & day difference in how my car looks now with chrome ZR1 wheels over how it looked with polished WS6 wheels. The style is pretty close....it's the finish.

Are they the same width? Might be nice to be able to stick a huge tire under the *** end of your Z....you know, traction!

Here is a pic of the polished wheel,

If I were to trade mine in after all the shipping mounting and balancing I would pay about $200 for these on my car. If I sold my Z06 wheels private party then these would probably be an even trade.

I would consider buying your wheels if I could get someone to buy my OEM SS wheels, Bobby... I like the Z06 wheels, I think they look sharp... had to go with OEM SS wheels because of the price.

Hmm if you would it would make the choice ALOT easier. I'd give you a good deal on them! Basically make a decent offer. They are the 01's so they are forged. I figure I'll probably end up with some Iforged Aero's or maybe some CCW's in a year or so but would like some "bling bling" for this summer

Well, I'd have to line up a buyer for my own wheels... and man, that's tough around these parts! I'm pretty sure there's no one around from this forum that needs 17" wheels anymore...

The ones on your car are 17" too, aren't they? Or are the rears 18"? I can't tell from the pic...

The rears are 18 x10.5. LOL are yours chrome? Maybe I should find a buyer for the Hopsters and we can all play merry go round with wheels

Like I said I'd sell them to you pretty cheap maybe even do a half now half later thing if you wanted. But your probably in the same boat I am the wifey would be much happier if I sell my wheels first before I buy new ones

Not too worried about it though the 01 z06 wheels sale pretty fast..

Oh yeah, I'm in the same boat I just wish the wife would throw me an oar once in a while...

Merry go round with the wheels... that's an idea! Also, if you know someone down that way looking for SS wheels, let me know. The wheels are damn near perfect, no rash or anything... only been on the car since June or July, and I have maybe 4000 miles on them since then. The tires are Falken Beta FK-451s, Z rated, and look practically brand new.
