Default Chrome or polish???

I just sold my stock wheels.... I'm trying to decide on a "just for now wheel" that may end up being my Drag Radial set for the track.

I'm trying to decide to go chrome or polish Z06 wheel.

Polish- advantages: Looks (IMHO) classy and about 200-300 cheaper
disadvantage: Upkeep but the car is not daily driven

Chrome-advantage: Looks although in a more flashy way, MUCH easier to upkeep
Disadvantage: Price, If they get a nick or pit then they can peel, and they can be a little flashy.

I really can't decide and I need to order them tomorrow! Part of me just says screw it and order some high polish CCW classics for 1800 but I'd need new front tires then I'd be into it 2300 and I would like to get my cam installed SOMEDAY with some headers

What do you guys think, my first poll!!!

I'm old school, plus I don't really like polishing. I vote for the chrome. You can always get it rechromed right ?!

Just a matter of opinion, but I have yet to see a set of rims that look better in polish than in chrome. Easier to maintain is also a big plus for me. One more vote for chrome!

I know the wheels you are looking at from Corvette garage!!!! They do look sweet and the price cannot be beat. If this is the style of wheel you are after I would do the polished and use the savings for good tires. Besides, the polished ones are official GM issue. The chromed ones normally are not unless you find some comm. ed. 04's. To get a set of these for $100 after sending my stock ones in is awesome but I have my eye on the CCW 505's.

Bobby,

Polished all the way!!! I hate chrome, too damn flashy for me. You don't need to be any more flashy, I mean you are driving a Z06.

Chrome, chrome, chrome...

Polished will dull after a while. If you are not Daily Driving chrome, still chrome. Plus polished you will have to coat them and that will take away from the shine.

Yep those are it, I actually sold my wheels for 600 + shipping so these would be basically a trade. I plan on either Iforged Aeros or CCW classics probably after the motor and clutch are done. But would like something a little more bling bling until then.

I LOVE the 505s (I always thought you had good taste) I just wanna run the RII's and they don't make them in 19's. As bad a driver as I am out of the hole I need all the help I can get! But yeah I like the 505's!!!

I'm SoldmyWS64ac5 on the corvette forum and 01Z06Wicked1 on the z06 forum are you the same user name over there??

The wheels are not coated. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. Good in that if they do dull or get nicked you can polish it out. Bad in that you have to polish them alot. The Gords I use on the Hopsters is pretty bad *** but still its a difference of rubbing and buffing the wheel for 5 minutes vs wiping off for 30 sec.

I'm going to have to see what the best deal on Chrome ones is and compare. Funny when you don't want them I see them used all the time. Now that I need a set there are none or they are 18 x9.5!

The only thing that will save you is not having them in the weather. Everything I polish is not coated but the parts that get just water on them start getting dull. Wiping with a hand polish will not bring it back like a buffer after a while. Plus using soap on them will really make them turn faster.

Chrome all the way. I know what you mean not looking = they are everywhere.

I go by Electron Blue over there. I am deciding on wheels or LGM LT's. I will be lowering it a little here soon.

LOL thats the reason I'm going with inexpensive wheels, I don't want to have to choose between them and headers. I think I'm going to go with Kooks just because I've hear stories on the LG's hanging low and the price. Plus I think Kooks can be used with my factory H-pipe at first. Now that I have the stingers I'm kinda stuck with cats...

Hmm checking on Chrome prices they are almost $300 more... That puts another delemia for me for a couple of hundred more than that I can get a set of FACTORY polished Z06 wheels made by Speedline which are about 3 pounds lighter and much better quality. UGG I am liking the chrome from the pictures I'm seeing I might have to go with these. Shoot 200 bucks for new wheels almost seems wrong. I'm used to spending some dough on wheels
