Default Track day for LS1tech NW????

OK now this is COMPLETELY talking out my ***, cause I have no idea if its possible or how much it would cost. But how many of you would be interested in a track day down here PIR? We may be able to share with another club or invade continental days. My neighbor is pretty active in at PIR and is an instructor I can ask if there is interest.

Again this is no definate but if we COULD pull this off for relatively cheap ($100-300) how many would be in if we can plan the day...I don't even know if we can this late, but if not maybe we can piggyback on to another clubs track day??

You talk out your ***? And what's different about that?

I would probably be in depending on a couple o' things... if the price is right (I'd say around $200 or so would work for me), and the timing is good (maybe late June or early/mid July), I'd be all over it.

Let us know what's available so we can decide if we can make it. It would be fantastic to get a bunch of us LS1tech friends on a track together ... can you imagine the in-car video we'd be able to get ?

Sounds like a lot of fun, July is getting pretty booked up for me, but if it is a day I can get away, I'll be there.

Which kind of track day are you talking about? Road coarse or drags?

I think it be costing everyone a pretty penny & some of us just dont have the money.

I know PNWCC was looking at doing this one day for the Club but it turned out to be a few k to even rent the track.

I'd be in. I have no idea what I'd drive if the SS wasnt working, but I'd probably just carjack Narcszm's slow vette. It's slow enough to be safe for beginners like me.

PIR's drag strip isnt that bad... even with the ricers dragging water up to the line, I still pull 1.60s with little 26x8" tires. And thats with less HP than these LS1's come with stock
I do want to try Woodburn sometime... I just get all non-commital when I hear that there is a $15 charge for a number on top of the $20 to race.

To actually rent a track cost a phuking arm and a leg. I have seen cost at larger facilities run in the 25K area.

But we arent talking about renting a track. To just show up on a lap day is going to run you right in the neighborhood of 150.00. Some places may require you to have taken the school prior to lapping. I have seen in car camera of a Fbody chasing a Vette that had ovbiously had ZERO experience behind the stick on the track. After 2 laps the guy was black flagged and asked not to go back on the track.

I think if we can get on the track with another group it would be pretty important to have someone that has been around the track before play the "lead" car and show the others the "line". At pacific raceways, that could make the difference between having a good time and your car going home on the back of a trailor because 5a and 5b snuck up on you. PIR has enough run off in all of its corners so that most of us wouldnt have to worry about overshooting a corner. Wait, most of YOU guys, since I dont have a ******* car that runs.

not all the time. I hook pretty hard there, just have to heat up the tires pretty good.

If I could con you out of some behind the wheel instruction, I would GLADLY let you drive my POS T/A if you have nothing that runs at that time........

BTW, count me in if the $$ is right.
