Default The Z is in the 12's..even with me driving..

Woodburn was fun, although ridiculously hot. It was fun not a big turn out so you could pretty much hot lap all day. Which I think Maximental did, I don't know if that dude turned off his car the whole time we were there!!!

My first and last runs were my best. 12.81 at 114, she's got more in here considering it was a hundred and bejesus degree's at the track. This is on the stock tires at 28psi, I probably could have played with the tires a little more but I'm trying to get used to the launch and more importantly the 2nd gear shift.

Last race was nuts pretty cool dude in a Big *** AMG Benz ran a freaking 12.38 on BFG DR's. Although at a 112 trap speed he had you could tell I was reeling him in just ran out of track. Actually even in the dial'd in runs thats how it was if I lost I was always gaining at the end of the track

People were discouraged with their times but it was hot, a dude in an 03 Cobra was running 13.8's and I know that is a low 13 car on a decent day. Also an STI was running 13.6's but was getting 1.78 60 fts

So I need to get this damn thing TUNED, get the shift light put in a bump the rev limited up so I stop hitting it in the 3-4 shift (which resulted in a 13.0x timeslip instead of 12.8-9.) and get some DR's and I think it should run some respectable times.

One thing I learned on the way home, GTO's are fast on the highway. I never did downshift all the way to third, but my 4th gear pull from 60 is enough for most cars and I don't know if I ever reeled Nathan in fourth, I didn't want to encourage him too much with memorial day weekend and the cops being out. But those things move!

Good job, Bobby. I was identical to yours yesterday but at 113mph. That was with the track temp at 125 deg. I did lower my tire pressure to 30psi (first time I have ever tweaked anything at the track) which I am sure it helped with it being so hot. Last time I ran 12.8's at 113mph but the pressure was at 38psi (or higher since I drove it there) and it was only in the 60's. For comparison, I got the make the first run on the night (meaning first one down the track out of everyone) against an 03 Z with drag radials. I jumped him out of the hole on reaction time but he nipped me at the end. DR's only netted him a 12.5's at 114. He ran with a 100 shot later for a 12.0 at 120. Makes me kind of rethink N02. Cool guy.

BTW, where were you Steve?

Dude I didn't know that you had a camera?? Your car will get there man I know it has the power and you were getting the 60's down towards the end of the day. Not too mention it only had 400 miles on it

That AMG was no Joke, glad he didn't use the bottle in the back seat and make me look really bad!!!

BTW the best that C6 could muster was like a 13.5 and Michaels car ran the same with headers as it did without that should give you an idea on how FREAKING hot it was!! Next time we'll go when its 75 out and I think you'll get your 13's. I think Max had more than 20 runs I think I had close to 10 and my car sat alot.

That C1 in the pic above spun out of control and did a 360 in the middle of the track it was pretty crazy dude pulled it out and didn't hit anything.

Yeah he was baiting me a bit luckily I had played with on street before a little bit and knew that it was pretty fast, otherwise I may have called BS and been an embarrassing loss. I would have guessed 13.1-13.3 though that 12.38 run was crazy That must be alot of Horsepower in the SC V8!!!

Is that your phone that took those pictures? Those are better than my digital camera!!!

hehe if you think that E55 is fun when I worked at mercedes we put a kleeman blower, headers, exhaust, cams, and tune in a C55 which is smaller and lighter... and we tuned a SL65 AMG which is 604hp 730tq stock from the factory... after tune... 630 and 840 crank hp and tq lol. I want one. I love AMG's

Gratz on the times guys! God I'd love to have an 05 GTO

Thumbs up

Nice job Bobby.

I think that is the biggest difference between Woodburn and PIR. If you're running normal street tires and a 6sp, the 2nd gear shift hooks waaaaay harder at Woodburn. PIR is a skating rink 40' out of the hole. Course you wouldn't notice that as much with slicks. Well, that and the 20-30mph headwind PIR has at times.

Nice job, Bobby! Now... if we correct for the "Bobby Factor" we can then estimate your car's adjusted quarter mile ET to be 11.8.

j/k

That's a fast car you go there, bud... especially considering the heat!

Default You can turn off your car at the track?

Okay, so I showed up ready and wanting to race. You gotta problem widdat? 7 runs, and 5 races makes 12 trips down the strip.
But then, I went to PIR, and got in 4 more. I was hoping since things finally cooled off I could do a little better. Not so. I did just as bad @ PIR as I had done @ Woodburn all day in the heat. Although my 60' time were better @ PIR. I guess Woodburn is a faster track, but I think they should do the late nighters like PIR. I did get in a run under 14.0 before I left Woodburn, but it was time to shut down by then.
Oh, well, that's racing. We can try again on a better day for racing.
It was good to meet you guys. Hopefully we can do this again sometime. Hang in there Nathan!

very nice time bobby

"4th gear pull from 60 is enough for most cars" have a question
I go at most 50miles at 1st gear, 70 2nd, 100 3rd, 130 4th.
is it normal

I have lower gearing than you but yes that is normal, I was going about 60 in fourth when I tried jumping on the GTO, I pulled him but we were moving by the time I really started pulling on him, WAY too fast for public roads. I could not beat your car from 4th in 60 and honestly didn't really beat the GTO. My car is SOOOOO freaking loud that its hard for me to downshift it unless I really want to play, not to mention it is a handful. I know it should be easy but she likes to squat at if I downshift into second and I have to really pay attention. From how hard the Goat was pulling on the highway I'm guessing it is a much stronger car from a roll than the 14 second quarter mile times would lead you to expect.
