Default Buying some land

We've been looking for land to buy for about a month now, and last week we made an offer on a chunk of land. We found out yesterday that they accepted out offer

Its 5.67 acres and is about half way between both me and my wife's work (20 min or so). One side of it is bordered by a creek.

The great thing is that its plenty big enough for my shed that I'll build after a few years.

So now we get to start looking into building the house. We've been looking through plan books, and have an idea of what we want. We may "build it ourselves" using a company called "U Build It", but we're also going to look at some builders. It may not cost much more just to have a builder do it and save us A LOT of hassle and time. We'll See.

For the time being though, it the house will have a oversized 3 car garage

Our general idea for the house is 1400 sqft first floor, 1000 sqft second floor, daylight basement (unfinished 1400 sq ft) and an unfinished bonus room above the garage (200-400 sq ft...depending on size of garage, and pitch of roof, bla bla bla) that I'll eventually finish for a home theater!

But it will be awhile before we move in.

Oh yeah, we're planning to keep our current house as a rental too.
