Well i got off the phone with carb connection and they're gonna do a full on speed density tune via a wideband on the 28th so that should hopefully fix all the driveability issues and bring up the numbers a little more.

I have gone there for years (just to be consistant with dyno numbers), they never could (as of last year when I went last) not tune an ls1. Is this something new they are doing?

What exactly is a full on speed density tune consist of?

I could be wrong here, but I don't believe you can do a complete tune on a dyno, speed density or otherwise. IMO hrs of street logging/tuning are mandatory to address all issues that one might have. They might be able to get fairly close however. Are you referring to WOT tuning only ?

BTW nice #'s on your pig rich tune. It's probably ok if we race too .. BEFORE you get it tuned the rest of the way lol !

I am just throwing up a caution signal because unless they hired someone new and bought the software they will not do anything except charge you dyno time and your expected to tune the car. I have asked them everytime I have been there and they do not tune ls1's...I would of paid them a long time ago before I bought my Preditor.

I just do not want you to pull up there like I did the very first time I ever, and it was like dyno tuning is your use our dyno to tune your car. It may of changed since last year.

congrats on the numbers nate, thats about what it felt like when i last rode in it. once ou get the tune nailed down it should be good for some high-mid 11's.

As for carb connection doing the tunning, i would just buy the software and then let elis help you with the tunning. He is relly good. If it were me i would let him tune it now doubt in my mind.

Just remember with speed density tunning you have to retune for the weather, found that out tonight, couldn't run faster than 11.5's on motor and netted a 10.77 on the spray. But did have a new best 60 time of 1.334

I guess when you have pro mods running in the mix they prep the track a little better than t&t at pacific

Good stuff man. I may go back to a maf tune, guess i'll just have to weigh my options.

As far as carb connection doing ls1's, i talked to alex and he says they have EFI live. I asked him specifically if he could do the tune for me and he assured me that he could get it in about 1.5 hrs or so.

I might plug the maf back in and try tuning that way, but it seems that the car just runs better in speed density mode with the cam.

I am going to be buying hp tuners in late august, I just want the wot tune finished for racing in the next couple of weeks and a little bit of the low rpm stuff fixed up. I'll snap a photo of the dyno sheet and post it tonight.

And congrats on the new best 60' time jason. When you re-tune you should be nailing down some new personal bests.

When I first read FWHP I was trying to figure out why he would be measuring FRONTwheel horsepower.

Yes They just bought EFI live. It is setup so you have to buy new ever third car and they are just passing the cost on to the customer. EFI Live is a nice setup just to expensive for my blood Alex was tunning a blown Vette with it week when i saw him

That seems like a great price, it cost me that much just for the dyno runs alone.
