glad you got it fixed

and for cheap...

after a dealership did the AIR pump recall on my LT1... the SES light came on after i took it home

i took it back and said they fucked something up...

they scanned it.. then charged me $78 to bring up the code of the AIR pump failure, and said it has faulty wiring

i say they should've fixed it with the recall
they reply, "the recall only covered the unit, not the wiring"

greatttttt...
i've broke two cars on test drives though... so i'm getting almost even with stealerships

Good deal man!

BTW I can tell you EXACTLY how this all happened At SOME point you had your car at the dealer and they replaced the front seal. They did NOT dis-assemble the entire Diff. like you have to and replace the crush sleeve with a new one.

So here we are with the front seal out and stuffed the new one in they just hit it with a impact wrench and over tightened the pinion bearings

Your friend at the dealer ship may not have seen this before but I see it ALOT!

It is kick *** they took care of you and i am VERY happy they got it fixed right!

Congrats!

Oh Steph, that is just SO wrong!!!

So did they tell you to come back after 500 miles to have the fluid changed Rott? If I recall, they don't put the posi gear lube in to begin with, and you NEED to have that in there.....

Thanks Ellis....yeah, the Stealership I took it to in LA I HATED but they were the most conveneint with the best hours (open till midnight) so it was a matter of logistics. I am not surprised they foulled this up....even though it has been close to a year since they replaced a leaky front pinion seal (or at least 12k miles) since they did that.......go figure. Oh well, at least it is all better now.

So Serioiusly, do you recommend a "break-in" period or am I just good to go?

They didn't say **** about it....I know when we put on the TA Gridle originally, we used the posi fluid......but I wil call and find out today to find out if they did that and what they "say" needs to be done.

Thanks everyone for your support and donkey pranks.

If Memory serves me correctly, you should give it a 500 mile break in period. After that you should be good to go. but then I am no mechanic so Ellis or someone else that knows could tell ya better than me

That is kinda what I was thinking, but additional (donkey-free) input is ALWAYS welcome.

Yes yes 500 miles of breaking. heat up cool down many times. Short trips not long ones. Then let her loose!
