Default Dyno tune!

Ok lets get this out of the way.

I have been Pounded by people who INSIST they have to get a dyno tune right after they get some work done to there car. Problem is there is only ONE guy (TJWong) who has a dyno and can do it right. It is a NICE Mustang Dyno. With out one tuning will need to be done. If you MUST have a dyno tune that covers more then WOT you need a Mustang Dyno that can steady state tune.

You do NOT do a full tune with a dynojet. You do FINAL tuning with it.

Unless you plan on spending thousands of dollars in dyno time you are getting nothing more then a WOT setting. A good share of it will be done with out the rollers even moving!

Now if you do not care about Drivability and only drive your car at WOT then you are set.

A good tune will have alot of work done before you even move the car. Then Drivability logging and tuning will be done slowly working your way up the scale. Once your car drives great and is hitting all the tables with the correct trim and no knock retard? It is then and ONLY then that you hit the Dyno jet. We have seen gains of 14RWHP and more with correct dyno tunning and spent about an hour per visit doing it. Usually the cost is $250-$300 for an hour of Dyno time, wideband and Operator. Worth every penny!

So tell me guys why would you waste money on a dyno till you are ready for one?

Exactly. It took Mark and I 1/2 hr of tuning and tweaking to even leave his driveway. As far as I'm concerned the WOT tuning is about 5% of what a good tuning process consists of anyway. It's the other 95% that makes a car livable and worth driving IMO

Hey Ellis you should buy and install a Mustang dyno ........

It is a planned future project

No need in buying some thing right now that I do not have enough customer base to justify

I agree My car drives great after mr groo finished it ...I wanted to go for dyno tune after that But i needed my car before it was taken for dyno Besides that I have have a healthy respect for my car and i really doubt that it sees the total performance that was put into my tune.meaning I never fully unleash the power available to me.

Since when? All I've ever seen down there was a Dynojet.

But I agree with you Ellis. Plus you need to do all the other tuning BEFORE you even think about going WOT on these computer controlled cars. Since that is where all the base tables get created. Not to mention the driveability like Bill said.

Hey - check your phone messages sometime WILL YA?

The mustang is about 5 feet behind the dynojet, they're both in ground dynos. You actually drive over the mustang dyno to get strapped into the dynojet.

Yes yes both of those places have Mustang Dyno's

I stand by my Statement TJWong is the best on one

BTW how much did it cost you for that Dyno tune ? The prices I quote in this very thread are from Carb Conn

Seeing how I work a few block from them and we exchange Business often I could be wrong

I'm looking forward to seeing how this whole tuning process works out. If only my exhaust would get here. ***walks off mumbling something about Stainless Works breaking their laser and putting them a month behind schedule***

Ok, I'll look dumb for asking the question here, but I just plain don't know...what's the difference between a mustang dyno and a dynojet?

Like I said. TJWong is the only one I would let tune a car if "I" wasn't doing it

I didn't get fully tuned yet, alex was under the impression that i already had a tuning program and i was under the impression that he had it...so i just took a few pulls and went on my merry way.

It would be around 250-350 bucks though if i had the software just to give you an idea.
