He's got nitrous. Hey Jake if I were you I would just get a few suspension parts and then save the majority of the money for the oh-**** fund.

If I were you I spend the $1000 dollars on a gold plaque with the enscription "That's it for THIS car" on it That way you can sit back and laugh hysterically at it in the years to come after you find out exactly how far you're going to wind up going lol !

Oh how painfully true that is...."I'll be happy to just get it into the 12s someday"

So what all do you have Jake? A stall & nitrous, do you have headers yet? A set of DRs, correct? There are so many things you COULD do. I guess it depends on what you plan for next year. Buy something that will build on that. You can never have too many suspension parts. Not only do they help the car hook up, they also keep it from twisting into a pretzel.

The basics are let the air in, and let it out. For an LS1 that means a lid, K&N filter, ported tb, headers & cat-back. Then you can start thinking cam & intake. If you do a cam, you should also get a new opti spark, so that is probably more than $1k. LS1 brakes would be good too. I dunno.....too many choices.

And the faster you go the faster you want to go. You go 11s then they are not fast, then 10s, 9s, etc...... No matter how much hp you have you end up getting used to it.

Yep, what he said...There will never be enough...the faster you go, the faster you want to go..It's just a continuous viscous cycle...

Actually, what I would do is take some of that money and find out why it's not performing off bottle...

Me and Ellis still want to know what the deal is....I would hope that mid to low 12's @ 108 to 110 mph trap speed, would be the result on engine only.

Yeah. That's the weird part. Heads flowing 270+ and a big cam, stall, gears, DR's.. That shouldn't just barely break into 12s. If you have $1k to spend, I think the best cost/benefit ratio would be to pay Ellis some of that money to find out what the hell is the deal. Then you would be in the low 12s on motor, and maybe mid 11s on spray..
